You're being very very very loose in your interpretation. He did not directly condemn Dame in a harsh way, but said time and again that Dame's statements were wrong when directly asked about it. He even flipped it to the "boss inside of me" as a way to dodge directly criticizing Dame. What you saw was a guy who said he liked Dame's energy and chose to focus on that and the two good points he made which he agreed with Charlemagne on as opposed to condemning him. Like @Panther noted. With that said, if it took Dame Dash's self-serving nonsense to get cats motivated to own something, then so be it. I like that they brought Watkins on to provide more sound advice. I think we can all sidestep Dame Dash defenses/criticisms and get to the bigger conversation about entrepreneurship (which the homie @Economics tried to do way back in HL when the board first started but no one rode with us).I'm only halfway into the interview, but Dr Boyce Watkins is basically saying what Dame said in a more articulate way. I like how most of the time the hosts tried to throw Dame under the bus, Watkins didn't fall for it. Like he said, Dame provides energy that is needed. The whole topic going viral is because of Dame Dash. I agree there are flaws in Dame's argument, but who doesn't have flaws? Dame is out there regardless of the outcome or how he comes off to others.
The hosts keep asking, "how do you get the money to be your own boss". In some ways, I feel that is a insincere question coming from them. A response to that is, "how do kids keep getting money for Jordans"? It's the mentality of a person that separates someone investing in themselves vs buying material goods. It's clear from this back and forth that some people are just cut out to be employees and some are better suited to be entrepreneurs. 99% of the underlying difference between the two people is FEAR. They might not want to admit it, but that's what it comes down to.
In the beginning stages of running a business, you almost become delusional because you're the only person that believes in your idea. Many people just don't have that self confidence. If you're going to do it, you have to be ok with the outcome of striking oil or failing. If you're scared to fail, you're better of just being an employee.
No. he said you can't just save you also gotta invest in assets.Did he contradict himself? He said you should have "FU" money but than said having money saved up is not the way.

Everyone keeps saying 'invest your money', 'invest your money'. Invest in what? People are often vague with the financial advice.
Your obsessed with Tariq Nasheed is bordering creepiness.
Look man, I know you loved that shyt Dame said despite most people who have run businesses or are finance fields shytting on his logic, but you're going too far with trying to summarize what he said in the nicest way possible. He said Dame's way of going about it is his way, and that he loves the energy it sparked and that there are other ways. He said we need a larger conversation. But like I said, he likes Dame so he's not going to shyt on him. He even said Dame reminds him of his father. When he said the line about the boss thing, he later circled back and then said you can have pride if you're a proud person. He also said he wants everyone to have freedom and to know what that feels like. But he also pointed out that moss businesses fail. He never said being an employee lowers testosterone at any point that I remember. He said that successful brothers and sisters facing discrimination in the workplace are literally made sick by it and cited that as an example. That circled back to his larger point about these institutions not being for us by design. Charlemagne of course somehow found that to mean that discrimination does not exist and it is just people looking out for their own (but he says a lot of dumb shyt). I just think that people are not used to these types of conversations so they get happy just hearing people speak on it passionately.Did you miss the part where he said the person who provides the money you use to put the food on the table is the man in your house? And the part where he talked about being an employee lowers your testosterone? He basically said the same thing Dame said but in a less combative way that it didn't hurt peoples feelings this time...Charlegmane even had to clarify his answer because it was so similar to Dames and he pretty much side stepped it....Like he said theres plenty of people with different viewpoints, and he and Dame are just two guys with one perspective, but there are plenty of others with different perspectives who should be heard from because the same way doesn't work for everybody....and if you don't want to be a boss you maybe just need to learn how to save and manage your money better, theres many great minds and viewpoints out there.
