That's the thing. They ask you, because they assume that down south women cook, but in reality, most cant.

Its just a positive stereotype, similiar to people asking me to play center in a pick up game cuz im tall, not realizing ima guard

Maybe they initially assumed we knew how to cook just because we were from the south, but we have definitely given credence to the stereotype. We have potlucks and dinners all the time. People ask us to cook because they like what we've made in the past.

I never understood the regional bias tbh....My girl is from NYC and she can cook her ass off.....both her parents worked crazy hours so she was taught to fend for her and her younger sister from a early age.....plus she Caribbean so you already know that food be hittin....
