I base my targets on future PT and how much I would want (in value) at certain SP.

I do want to get at least 10K of NexTech before it hits $5 w/o selling off much of my other positions.

For my Daughters Account, theres no set number. With $20 going into her acc every week, I pretty much buy what red for the last few days, or buy based on any expected news coming up.

How many shares do you guys average in a company? I like to have at least 10, but I don't have any real reason.
I'll post my whole taxable portfolio. I started it about a year ago from nothing. Yahoo doesn't let you add partial shares last I knew so it's slightly more than this.

the columns are
Ticker / day change / shares / cost basis / market value / day change again / total gain / lots

Thanks for sharing. I googled how many a lot is and it says a lot is 100 shares? Is that true? so that means you have 300 shares in Apple? Also can you talk to me about dividends? I had some stock in Ford, I've since sold it because Ford is kind of a mess right now. But before I sold it off I received dividends which was pretty cool. I didn't know you earn money just from owning stock. But my question is, is that something you should factor in when decided to buy stock in a company? Thanks.

Depends on the price per share.

I am not a baller. The most I invest in a single stock is $1,000 and I allow 10% to be my limit (-$100), no more than that.

No a standard lot is typically 100 shares but a lot just means a purchase of shares at a given time.

I only own Ford because it pays that dividend but it's not a good company. If the share price wasn't so low I'd sell.

You should consider the quality of the company in addition to the dividend amount. If it's a bad company and they cut the dividend you might lose more than the dividend paid you.

Went a few hundred deep on the following:

ET
Energy stock with a 9% dividend yield. Expected to report earning on 2/19

SENS
Medical device. By investment recently from insider ( not always a good sign).

Both are gambles.

New stock I'm watching The Alkaline Water Company WTER.
Alkaline88®is a premier 8.8 pH balanced bottled alkaline drinking water enhanced with trace minerals and electrolytes. The product offers consumers the unique opportunity to purchase alkaline water in conveniently packaged 500-milliliter, 700-milliliter, 1-liter, 1.5-liter, 3-liter and 1-gallon sizes. The Alkaline Water Company Inc. is currently in the midst of a national mass-market expansion program, where the product is already available for consumer sales at a growing number of major retail locations across many parts of the United States.

They already have distribution in the largest stores like Wal-Mart,Target, 7/11, CVS and many more.

They recently announced they are making CBD infused products Yahoo is now part of Oath

Alkaline Water Co. Inc. announced that it has entered into an all-stock deal to acquire Aquahydrate, a water brand that's backed by Sean "Diddy" Combs and Mark Wahlberg. The two celebrities invested more than $20 million into the development of Aquahydrate. Yahoo is now part of Oath

I see this as undervalued trading below $2 right now. They have huge potential for growth and they are making all the right moves
Hey no troll, but how do you still feel about this company? I see their stock is now at $1.44

I bought more when it was in the $1.10 range, I feel they are making the proper steps to become a successful business. Earnings control the price action on this one they have a earnings report on February 10th I'll be paying close attention to what happens during that time.

Thanks for the response, do you recommend other to jump in? For a price of $1.44 a share, there's really nothing to lose

Damn! Not even a month and SENS is up more than 60%

Yahoo is now a part of Verizon Media

Don't want to do it as it has way more upward potential, but may set my trigger as my last tough lesson was PINS ... Was up 40+% and held onto it too long .. sold it at a loss

Damn... briefly went up another 25% ... Currently at 17%

Senseonics Holdings Inc.

I may regret it but will most likely set my triggers and buy if it dips low.

Cigna and other health care providers are providing coverage for their subcutaneous glucose monitoring device.

@morris :mjlol:Honestly if a stock jumps that much, especially if it just came out. I would just sell it, because I usually buy new stocks like that in bulk. It is almost guaranteed to plummet and even if it goes back up you can still buy the initial plummet and eat off of your profit.
