It's also important to note how corporations have increased their stranglehold on working Americans to where many people have 2 jobs or more, several people are working FULL time past retirement age, and we have to deal with stagnant wages.
All of these increase difficulty not only for parents spending time with their children, but also for their "community" to have time available to help raise the child. We're going to have to work harder than ever to create a positive environment for these kids.
I always said that we need to buck back against these evil corporations that demand more from workers, with no extra pay.
That is also why non immigrants that are educated, stopped having kids and plummeted the birth rates.
Different topic, but it's up to workers to ask for more pay. When you go on a job interview, what salary do you ask for? Is it random? Or do you take into account experience, living and costs?
