If Sorensen stays I'd be really pissed off. I think it's time to move from the Wide 9 as the base of our defensive philosophy. We don't have the cap to get all the talent that is needed to make that scheme work anymore. I kinda think its time to do a major overhaul. If we have to go through another season of growing pains, I much prefer it to be because we have a new system in place than knowing that the current one can't work anymore with our current roster and a DC (Sorensen) that just isn't good.
We have 2 elite players on defense. Build the system from scratch around them. Run whatever scheme allows Bosa and Warner to do what they do best.

sad to say this but the core is done here. deebo looks done, trent might retire after this year, bosa hasn't lived up to his contract, CMC is probably on the decline now and who knows with aiyuk.

it's time to figure out brock's worth and what contract is realistic for him and move some players around. i think deebo and bosa should go for sure so we can free up some cap space.

Hes an elite QB. Elite QBs win. Purdy was the last goddam pick in the draft
and yet... Purdy been in how many more playoff games than CIN? :jbhmm:
They had Chase, Higgins and Mixon last year and still did worse than SF.
Their offense was 22nd in the league last year.
Despite CIN having a consensus top-2 WR and an 'elite' QB.

they ain't win shyt.

Maybe... just maybe... 'elite QBs' don't win like you think they do.
Wins aren't a QB statistic

Defense matters too.

Brock is good when things are churning. Take away a piece or 2 and we see chinks in the armor. Brock isnt a ceiling raiser. Brock can keep the house clean as long as the vacuum works. If that shyt breaks and he gotta use the broom the house gonns be dirty as fukk

fair enough.

That said... the vacuum works in CIN. And the floors still dirty as fukk :hubie:
Not saying Brock is a 1st round caliber talent. But... he's consistently outperformed most 1st round QBs. And that's with his hands tied by Kyle not even installing audibles for the offense.

Burrow with that restriction and behind this line? Slimmest Shady ain't making the post-season. Not for lack of talent. But for lack of invulnerability to injury. Joe Burrow getting sacked onto IR behind this line before he puts up Purdy numbers, in this hypothetical.

Scheme and OLine are the problem more than Brock. Kittle being out proved that as a definite. RT is so bad the team might be better off playing 4 Linemen and two TEs at this point than continuing to put McKivitz out there.

This is absolutely true, and I hate to be the cold bucket of water, and I came to the realization after going for a walk, Kyle isn't going anywhere and neither is Lynch. This is our team and brain trust for a while. We've committed too much money to go back on any of it.

This season might just be an L season and if they don't think they can get the wild card just sit CMC and Purdy. Get a higher draft pick because we're in the middle of the 1st right now aka no man's land. In another thread before the season started I felt like this was going to happen, @yseJ caught me, and now that we're here I'm at a point of acceptance.
I'm just here to pray ya'll fire Shanny, so Indy can hire him. I'll see myself out. :hubie:

He literally just re-upped. You'll see the same nikkas in here complaining to fire him next season if they ain't solved the problems of this year.....and if folks get injured again next year he'll be back in 2027.

On his side, he has the convenience of using injuries as the reason why, instead of the actual reason which is letting the inmates run the asylum when it came to the defensive side of the ball and not giving a fukk about special teams.
