We've been in America for hundreds of years; we hold no claim to Africa. Look at tribalism in Africa they don't even like each other.

I am African-American, or Black American (I don't even identify as Haitian-American, my grandmother is the Haitian one).
I am descended from West Africans (likely Ghanaian, according to my uncle who has done ancestry work).
There is a difference between a "descended from kidnapped and enslaved Africans" and "African immigrant," this "we are one Africa" shyt is Western nonsense.
The whole thing is a mess, I wish everyone would read Americanah by Chimimanda Adichie, a lot of her observations in the book are on point (not all, but most).

Africans think of African Americans as culturally different, and non-African in terms of citizenship/nationality. The same for caribbean blacks.

But they absolutely recognize African Americans as part of the African diaspora. Africans aren't blind, or clueless about history. lol

These African Americans who seem to think they were created in a petri dish in Connecticut in 1830 are lost.
