:comeon: this country is not electing michelle obama 4 years after her husband was in office

i mean if you really see that happening :yeshrug: im not a psychic. but if i was a betting man
After goddamn Trump proved me wrong at every turn in the previous election, I think optics and performances are more important than anything....and Michelle is an excellent, charismatic speaker.

This whole Bernie Dem :hula:3rd party discussion is coming from folks who are being so disingenuous. So let's stop it please. The man was allowed to as he should've been, caucusing with them and all that. Is there an institutional advantage running in the Dem primary vs 3rd party? Absofukkinglutely and we all know it. If he didn't, why run a primary? And these folks would still bytch if he ran 3rd party on some Jill Stein non sense.

These folks would've been tight no matter what.

we also got a taste of how america reacted to his 'socialism'. he's been effectively smeared by fox news so that people have entirely the wrong idea of what he means by democratic socialist, and its over. the ship has sailed.

bernie was 2016 or bust. running him as someone's VP in 2020 is an excellent move. running him as the nominee is a surefire loss
Bernie with the right VP would mop the floor with Trump in 2020.

All I'm saying is that Hillary lost because of MI and WI.

PA was the death strike I think...but she won that state in the primary.

Secondly, she and the DNC did nothing to fix their weakness in these states. Politico did a story shortly after the election that highlighted this problem.

There is a reason why she is not liked in these states and it most likely has to do with her support of free trade policies (until she was sort of forced into a more a bernie stance through the primary but no one believed her) and lack of focus of her campaign during the general in these states compared to Trump.

She lost these states in the primary and were her death in the general. Trump is a crook, but during the campaign when he is lying about working to bring back jobs and bring back the good old days in these states where car and steel plants are everywhere, and spending more time there than Hillary clinton what do you expect to happen? They will go to the guy who is at least talking to them and addressing their issues.

I agree with this premise...but it doesn't ignore the fact Bernie couldn't win the voters needed to be the primary candidate for the Dem Party.

If you want to win the primaries for Dems you HAVE to win the black/minority vote. He couldn't do that.

im not sure :yeshrug: or let me say, its too early to call

if trump can short term put more money into peoples pockets with these tax cuts, then no way in hell. if he doesnt kick too many people off healthcare, then no way in hell. and of course assuming he doesnt get us into a nuclear war, and our military industrial complex carries on its disgusting status quo...no way in hell

you've gotta admit that there hasnt been any major interruptions to the vast majority of americans' way of life so far. but that goes back to my original point, which is a strong "yet"

Bernie should not be the nominee. He should do the right thing and start grooming a successor. We should pass a law that you can't be a first term president if you're over 70.

Also his wife is under federal investigation smh...dirty as fuk

There will be more of these books coming out from long time confidants. Donna is cashing out as the Clinton gravy train has reached its final destination.

Caucus states don't have their vote totals counted so the gap isn't that large. It's like HRC claiming the popular vote in 2008 over Obama. Granted this is a much larger gap. But this fealty does show it was rigged because local endorsements matter a lot in a primary. Bernie could not get any local surrogates. The guy had no chance of getting large audiences down there and bring heard. No one did.

The people chose which person they wanted who rigged their decision?

It didn't matter to me either Bernie or Hillary were fine....I was focused on the forest (Four years of Trump) not the god damn tree.

I agree , but the majority of the people do not want Trump . I couldn't see him beating anyone with a real movement . Hillary didn't have a movement she had money to spend .

Bernie should not be the nominee. He should do the right thing and start grooming a successor. We should pass a law that you can't be a first term president if you're over 70.

I don't think Bernie should run again , but I don't see no one else who can beat Trump . Maybe this will change, but at the moment I don't see it .

I think Bernie should run and win . If he wins he shouldn't run for re election . The key is his VP
