Even against Cole, just by default the offense can’t be as bad again as it was tonight, right? 3 at bats with runners in scoring position and 1 extra base hit in 11 innings should not be expected.

Not only can I NOT deal with that stress, but what an AWFUL amount of wasted time - especially, after a loss. Like, I can make music or write while the games on. ugh

Game 4 on Wednesday is most likely going to get postponed until Thursday (rain).

That gives Verlander another chance at a start, especially if, Cole continues to dominate and the Astros take a 2-1 lead.

They were both always going to get two starts each this round. We’re gonna have to get at least one off of the two of them to advance. It’s that simple. Even simpler is this:

don’t lose any remaining home games and we’re champs. Protect 161st street

While are we all satisfied with splitting on the road, don't get it twisted, this is still a frustrating loss. And honestly, the more I think about it now the less satisfied at I am. This was our golden ticket (taking a game where Verlander pitches) and we blew it.

Eventually, we're going to have to beat either Verlander or Cole. We beat Verlander here, and we possibly won't have to beat him again. Now Cole is pitching Game 3, and he's been lights out. If we drop on a non Cole game at home (or any game for that matter), now Houston can save Verlander for 1 more start at home.

We're also assuming that Houston's bats won't come alive. It's more likely their bats come alive before we learn how to hit JV or Cole

Let's just hope for the best on Tuesday against Cole. Hopefully Sevy is on his A Game.

Which reminds me, fukk John Smoltz I can see why people are calling him a hater and being anti Yankees. Talking about how Boone is playing a dangerous game with his use of the bullpen. Which I won't argue against, but then he throws out "and you can't count on Severino to pitch 6 innings"

Simply doesn’t have to mean easy . I got faith in the home pitching staff and you know the bats will be better than they were tonight, simply because it’s hard for any offense to be as bad as they were tonight. I’d love to see them hold serve at home to advance, but I expect they’ll have to get one more in Houston. Gary and EE will have to stop swinging at every pitch they see for this to happen though. They’re some 1 for 17 this series, so they have to step up.

The Astros will rue the fact that they carried an entire staff of RHP and not one lefty to at least give the Yankees batters a different look.

I'll give the advantage to the Yankees offense getting more comfortable as the series goes on.
