Don Lemon was c00ning it up during the Ferguson protests and choosing his sexuality over his race. Now that he’s experienced whatever type of awakening he’s on now and wants to be the fukking Stokley Carmichael of CNN he thinks that HE can call people out?

It could be thought of as paying it forward?
He took a ton of heat for his soft shoe act. Rightfully so. Maybe now that he has seen the light, he wants others onboard and is willing to use his platform to do so. Even if it means publicly calling them out in not so pleasant ways. Plausible, right? :yeshrug:

Trying to throw him some bail because I used to crucify that nikka. :pachaha:

Quoting this for emphasis as people seem to forget all the smoke he had for Talib Kweli, when he went down to Ferguson.

They should be called out

Folks are quick to market their drink/food/clothing label/ ignorant songs, quick to hop on that lgbtq, quick to tear down other black folks but now quiet as a church mouse on sunday morning

Hopefully he's calling out those white folks at the Oscars.

I'm done with this being something we reserve for black entertainers.

But if some of them came out and said keep burning everything to the ground they would be irresponsible
why is that the only option for what to say? :what:

simply demanding the officers be charged is the bare minimum.

instead you have celebrities crying over gucci stores being looted, wondering how bi-racial kids feel, or outright blaming black people for dying at the hands of racist cops:stopitslime:

celebrities arent gods. they bleed just like everyone else. but either they shut the fukk up or think before they say something. cause right now a handful of them actually get what is happening and aren't tone deaf when acting.

He's come a long way...he deserves some credit.

I'd respect it more if it didn't take him getting constantly dragged by Trump to realize what's going on. It's easy to call for action to put out a fire when you're now roasting in it. Before he was content to sit on the sidelines and report about it and perhaps toss a few errant logs in there as the media is known to do.

ALSO he shouldn't be calling for people to join mass protests during a pandemic while his network has consistently promoted social shaming for people who dare venture out in groups of three or more. Makes it look like he (and they) are just following the hot story and pandering to their perceived audience.

I've changed my mind on celebs speaking out, specifically black ones that have the intelligence to.

Visibility is needed.
