I'm disappointed by the settlement, but they're a corporation, they would always take a settlement if it was good for business. All that evidence, texts, recordings, etc., already got released. Fox News was embarrassed. Fox News viewers are ignorant of it, and it won't stop them from watching that trash, but it embarrassed Fox News considerable outside the Fox News sphere. I would say this lawsuit has been a success :ehh:

A company worth 80 million just settled for almost 800 million and the internet is disappointed.:mjlol: They could have easily won the trial and got a much smaller amount.

I mean, if we're talking speculative damages (future profits that were destroyed by Fox News's lies), Dominion will probably lose most of the potential business it might ever have had.

Even if I'm a blue state governor, why take the risk? Why give the conspiracy theorists even more fodder?

Damn dominions owners with the play of the last couple years.

Staple Street's previous investments include theme park operator Six Flags Entertainment Corp (SIX.N) and information technology services provider Cyberlink ASP Technology Inc, according to its website.

In one of the court filings, Fox cited a December 2020 text from a former Staple Street employee to a current executive that proved prescient.

"Would be pretty unreal if you guys like 20x'ed your Dominion investment with these lawsuits," the text read.
