The beef goes way back. Haitians used to rob/kill/rape Dominicans back in the day for fun. Hell, the Haitian government turned their schools into prisons and whorehouses at one point. The thing is that's the highlight of their history and they think Haitians are proud of that past. They have several chapters describing how cruel Haitians used to be to them. Dessalines looked down to the mulattos as soft and never respected them. It's very well publicized and taught in schools

Now, Haitians don't even care about all that, we just trynna eat and live since there's no hope at home. The poor Haitians flee to DR for work and school (university). That's killing the Dominicans inside that they still rely on Haitians someway somehow, even though it's a 2 way street. Most universities would take a HAitian before a DOminican since the Haitians pay for his classes while DOminicans don't, or they pay a small fee. They'd rather not see Haitians in their country at all even though they bringing money and/or doing the dirty work.

It's getting worse now that they have a bunch of Haitians in politics, medicine, engineeering competing with them for jobs. A few years ago, professionals used to go back home to work but now they'd rather stay in DR for a job since most of them do very well in school. That's why they want the Haitians to go back home. They feel like in a few years Haitians can take over and fukk em up again.

Add to the fact that, all the salty losers who have a degree but can't find a job cuz they did poor in school or majored in some shyt language/literature career. All these people are pushing for Haitians to go back home.

My brother was robbed twice while he was going to school there. He went to the police and he was told that he needed to go back home, meanwhile the dean of his university went to great length to get that officer fired. He didn't wanna lose his Haitian cashflow

Not only that but it's a bit more complex than that. You had a lot of dominicans that sympathized with their slave masters since there were many mulattos and intermarried with them... so instead of rebelling they fought against haitians who were tryna remove the white presence.

So they hold a grudge for that. Not to mention the whitewashing of DR by dictators and the twisting of their history in schools decades ago, this also contributes to the atmosphere of self-hate and etc.

lol I heard this but the truth is that the Natives died of diseases and being overworked. Their immune systems couldn't handle all of the foreign germs being brought by the spainards. They needed new slaves after that natives started being decimated from illness. The Indians also fought back heavy but didn't really stand a chance.

Yup that's the line I'm talking about ... and they did kill his ass after that lol dude got merked at Petions crib. What he did was wrong though and he knew it was wrong... he had a deathwish.
