9.1.6 Overhead Speaker Setup

I see Denon has came out with a $3,999 13.2 ch Dolby Atmos AVR . Currently I'm rocking with my Onkyo TX-NR3030 11.2 Ch Dolby Atmos AVR with a 7.1.4 setup, it's nice however the Denon adds HDR support and 2 more channels.

Anybody else doing height channel surround sound setups?

Out of all of these, I'd say 60 movies between standard Blu-ray and 4K.

Out of curiosity I counted my 4K movies, I have 64 of those, 50 of them have Atmos audio. If I added in the standard blu-rays that have it I would say the total would be closer to 80.

I ran wiremold channeling from Home Depot to conceal the wires coming from the AVR to go to the side and rear surrounds and to the front and rear overheads. I bought a 500ft spool of 12ga 2-conductor wire and took some measurements when I knew where I was putting speakers. There is a wire bunch right behind the AVR before it goes into the wiremold channels. I do wish the ceiling speakers came in white to blend in, I live with it. 7 main/surrounds, 1 sub, 4 ceiling speakers. Screen is 65".

$1,600, that's deal shopping on forums and ebay. The cherry left/right mains were the best deal, $3,000 retail, bought them for $550.

thanks, took some time to put it all together. One of the things on my list is a new game system that has HDR, so either a Playstation Pro or XBox 1X.

HDMI 2.1 will be available through a hardware update.

i am having a new house built.. will wire the basement for one of them 7.1 joint
