EDM is the birthchild of the awful Progressive House of the late 90's..it is what Reggaeton is to Dancehall :scust:
Again no its not

I wish people would stop speaking on topics before actually learning about them

EDM = old school house, deep house, future house, progressive house(trance), tropical house, future bass, drum and bass, trap, techno, industrial house, dubstep, nu disco and a ton of other dance music styles

Its just name of the genre that all those other genres fall under

I can also fire off a TON of black artists making successful EDM right now

I would never a child who didn’t grow up with a father choosing not to have a relationship with a parent who had no hand in raising her.
I don’t follow the train of thought that regardless of what your parents do you should forgive and have to have a relationship.
Plenty of parents who show up only to use their kids.
As for her, don’t care about her, black Americans are way too invested in biracial people.
You’re arguing against something he isn’t even talking about.

There was always white sound engineers due to who the studio owners were, but..

I noticed the rise of white beatmakers around early to mid 2000's when i was a member of rapmusic & future producers forums (Soundclick era). A lot of their music didn't have any soul or feeling to it (obvious reasons). Music used to sound like you were in a horror movie with their dungeon beats.

Then at one point, they started to receive placements on albums and tv shows
:ohhh:

I blame the rise of Eminem

You've described one of my closest friends to a tee :wow::mjlol:

He went through the same thing and he hasn't had a major placement since 2003/2004 but still makes bread off tv/reality shows till this day.

Oh and don't blame Eminem, blame Wu-Tang.

Cacs know where the real money is..that is why they slowly inserted themselves into production and song writing.

Notice also the deafening hype on here surrounding Scott Storch. Whenever he made some beat people on here would herald it as the second coming of christ or something which was always very suspect to me..:mjpls:

Breh that knob gobbling of Storch during the Verzuz battle made me sick man. Everyone is talking about Usher vs. JT but I don't want to see it because of something similar happening...we should have done a better job at gatekeeping lol

Another disturbing trend is all of a sudden all the sound engineers are white guys too..

When did cacs learn to master hiphop and beat Black people at music..they dominate and keep us out of their industries yet are all over Black peoples shyt. We are weak weak weak.
Wayne and his cac obsession with the skating and punk rock look trying to appeal to a large audience caused this.

Cacs have always had huge behind the scenes in music (in fact cacs wrote a lot of Black hits from the 60s-80s). Theyre the ones who could afford to go to school for it or came from tutelage.

Less Eminem, more due to the rise of digital production, peer to peer downloads (drumkits have been around since the 2000s) and traceable algorithms with streaming services. With enough time spent in your moms basement and keeping an ear to the streets, you too could become the next big producer by simply knowing what people are listening to and mimicking it which easier now more than ever.
