the crazy thing is that he said that Redman is wack now, but Cappadonna is spitting. I'm sure it has nothing to do with him filming a video for Cappa about 12 years ago... I thought Doggie was one of the legit ones..
Cap been rspping for a while now. A lot of his later albums since 2014 have been way better than redmans 20. . Noone knows that tho because we all wrote cap off 20 years ago but its true.

Hes STILL hungry. He never stopped rapping and releases like 2 albums a year for 10+. Theres like 30 cap albums from 2010 on. Red got one?

Da illage vol 1: production from nottz and true master
Hip hip mixtape: all pete rock produced tape
All cappa chemist: cap freestyling over alchemist for an entire tape

Id rather listen to these 3 than last 3 redman projects

Redman fell off when he went full pop. Right after blackout! Hea still dope but hes right… red sounds best over erick and rocwilder. Hes been leaning too far into the comedy. Red dont even like dare iz so all his fans calling it a classic are wilding out. Its a mid tier album from 90s. Nothing special at all. Doggie didnt lie whatsoever.

And i havent really liked a 9th track since he stopped with fl. And even then he was wildly all over the olace. Hed have 1-3 big joints on s project for madta ace, sean price, buckshot etc… then some eh stuff that should have never made it.. Always thought krysis was better.

And hes 100%. Daringer and conductor beats are lazy as fukk. That shyt worked in 90s because it took hours to hook up. You can make beats those guys make in 5 min today with zero effort. They either lay over the same loop over n over or dont even put drums. Anyone whos made beats knows what that is. Sheer lazinesss.

9th beats are awful now

I don’t know why we have to act like we love his new records cause he’s “hip hop” and he made good beats 20 years ago for LB.

Doggie Diamonds is clearly hating but he not wrong. Had a similar conversation with my boy a couple weeks back who tried to say 9th is a better producer than Alchemist :mjlol:
Facts. He hasn’t been good or relevant in over a decade

Meh

The issue with Redman is his voice changed over the last 20 years from how it was in the 90s and it’s made it pretty unlistenable for me. I hate his new rap voice. And I haven’t liked his production in forever either.

Same thing happened to Styles P (voice) for a good 5 year period but he somehow corrected it.
Bro imma keep it real fukk Doggie Diamonds. U know I BEEN called son out as a crab. nikka mad negative and annoying. fukk is the point of attacking Redman for? Only one I don't have a problem with him going at is 9th cause that nikka is a dikkhead.

Doggie is a clown but Cappadonna went crazy on On The Radar recently. I'm surprised it wasn't posted here.

Am I on a national platform? Also. Doggie has been flagrant for a minute now. nikka mad negative. And 9th is a dikkhead for PLENTY of reasons. That's why damn near Noone likes him in the industry and he can't keep relationships. nikka managed to even fall out with Rapsody. And alotta NC cats can't stand him.

Redman is one of my goats. So I completely disagree with his take on the old Redman music

But I’d be lying if I said I liked a Redman song in the last 15 years. Damn near 20 years if we being fully honest.
Oh word? 20 years? I thought he was still good on Red Gone Wild and Blackout 2 (Method Man obviously outshining him on that project) But after 2009 Redman wasn't making any big time albums anymore.

The other problem is at some point his raps became way too reliant on basic similes leading into name drops/pop culture references. Like damn near every other bar. Thats a telltale sign of somebody who's run out of shyt to talk about.

Great observation. Yeah he became very 1-2 punchline/current event bar reliant.

He was much more slick and subtle with his wordplay in his prime.
