This Jay Z washed up talk is nonsense. Its just that everybody (Wayne Drake Ye etc) are using his style and making it tired. Hot lines with no cohesion over a dope beat is easy for a decent rapper.

Should have made a thread asking to create the best possible 'Best Of' 20 track album for your favorite artist and explaining why it would be better than those of other artists. It would be interesting to compare the lists and see the shortcomings and strengths of each artist compared to the rest.

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
That shyt really don't make any sense, especially when Jay is arguably better individually than everyone in the Wu (reasonable arguments can be made that Ghost and Raekwon are as dope). As I understand "Best Of..." albums, the purpose is to pick the best of the best from whoever the artist is. It is not about picking every good song that the artist has released. So I'm not talking about Wu's entire discography vs Jay's. I'm talking top 20 Wu v. top 20 Jay. And I'm not even weighing in on who's better, just that there can be debate.

Just from glancing at my Jay-Z playlist, the following can compare to anything from any other great artist, including the best 20 from Wu:

1. Where I'm From
2. Imaginary Player
3. Can I Live
4. Regrets
5. D'Evils
6. In My Lifetime
7. Thank You
8. Party Life
9. Politics as Usual
10. Thank You
11. U Don't Know
12. PSA
13. Heart of the City
14. Lost One
15. This Can't Be Life
16. Anything
17. Friend or Foe
18. A Million and One Questions/Rhyme No More
19. Streets is Watching
20. Dead Presidents

And there's plenty of songs that could replace this "top 20."

I love the Wu. I love Jay. I can see how nikkas can argue either way about who's "Best Of..." is better. :yeshrug:

I still stand by what I said, though. :shaq2:

And I forgot to respond to your suggestion that RZA's best compares to Nas's best. Here's my delayed response: :why:

Jay-Z never made timeless music, even his old music is garbage now. Nas hands down is the winner in this thread. I could make a best of Nas with 5 songs thats better then a full cd of any other rapper or group
