The question isn't necessary because the second run is extra credit. The Rock is the greatest sports entertainer that ever lived. He created Smackdown, drew the highest grossing year of the Attitude Era, got the highest Raw ratings in history, had the most bought Attitude Era PPV in history, did dream matches with Hogan/Goldberg/Flair/Booker T/Lesnar, and made star after star. He was untouchable on the mic....proven wholesale by 1999 in general when he made a fool out of every peer that ever had worth in the industry. Getting standing ovations during promos and shyt. Just unheard of on a weekly basis in the industry. The stuff in 2000 is legendary...60% of the audience leaving after the Rock's matches during houseshows. That's insane for a worked business.

When it was time to get XFL kick started? Who did they run to during that debut in LA that did big ratings in 2001? When it was time to put out those CDs that went #1 ? Who did they market it with on all those commercials and covers? When it was time to kick off X Box with Bill Gates in NYC? Who did they run to?

Austin is in the same vein of all of that except he was pushed as #1 and protected more. Made sense though considering that's what people paid to see.

Ya'll seriously not giving Austin credit for putting eyes on WWF so people could see Rocky in the first place to make himself get over with the crowd.Serious question if Austin hadnt got hurt would Rocky have gotten top top spot in the company in 2000?I don't think he would have,not cos he wasn't over cos he was in a huge huge way but Austin still would have been number 1,just like he always was ahead of rocky before he got hurt and they had to do the car running him over angle.

True but Bret started Austins rise and Vince catapulted him to insane heights but rocky v austin was an amazing feud as a fan and helped elevate both of them as workers.

I remember Austin putting Dwayne over when he finally felt like it. I recall Dwayne tapping Austins head after the match thanking him for letting him be booked stronger for once. Austin never had to be anything else but Stone Cold. You would've have had a better chance of Vince McMahon saying Crispenwah on live tv then the Rock talking about his wrestling past before coming back.
