Still adds up to 3 total in the conversation

Kendrick got at least 3 in the conversation too

Yall trying so hard to disqualify the conversation before it even starts. :jbhmm: Are you scared it might be valid?

Kendrick followed up a commonly deemed classic with the highest rated rap album of all time and broke streaming records with DAMN. Kendrick created moments in the culture with the control verse, GKMC rollout, The Heart Part 4 disses, BET cypher, grammy performance etc

Has Nas ever had that type of reception? Acclaim maybe.

by who? rosenbergs?

When will y'all realize that the only people who think GKMC is a classic album are rosenbergs. No one else thinks it's a classic, and a lot don't even think it's a great album. You'll get a wider response of 'decent to good" than "great to classic". And there are a number of individuals like myself who think it's trash.

This Ducktales push is becoming the weirdest in pop rap history. What's next? Kendrick's the greatest artist ever? The greatest in our solar system? The greatest in the Milky Way? At what point do rosenbergs say "enough is enough" :laff:

Were people as hyped on Nas when he came out? I'm not gonna speak on classics, but I'm wondering if Nas had the commercial success Kendrick does? I was young and on the West Coast :pachaha:

He literally had the #1 song in the country & album for 4 weeks in 1996...(the height of 2pac, Biggie, Wu, Bone, Death Row, etc)

Yes. Initially it was just the core audience, but with It Was Written and particularly I Am he had massive commercia success. I Am did just shy of 500,000 first week.

That being said, Jay and DMX sold more.

Classic is not synonymous with great when it comes to albums. I think Kendrick has 1 classic, and 3 great albums. I may even say he has 2 classics. I personally think this new album is his second best album. But anyways, Nas has more classics so far but kendrick still has time to eclipse him.

Not as far fetched as people think. For all the Nas GOAT talk he does not really have the catalog to back him up. Kendrick on the other hand is in an era where anything even remotely good is slappes with the classic label therefore bringing down his truly great works (TPAB). I would still go for Nas over Kendrixx.
