I don't have a hard time watching it as much as I realize it's flaws now and still enjoy it. The first act is really cool and interesting but once it goes back and just replays the 1st movie all so that it can get to the 3rd movie, it misses me. I didn't like the 3rd as a kid because it split up Marty and Doc but now that I'm older, I see just how dope it is. Like the 1st movie, it's doing something new and different and exploring something.
Back to the Future 1 is the greatest movie ever made. Back the Future 2 is the second. By extentison BtF 3 is a good movie. GOAT trilogy status confirmed.
I slept HARD on this trilogy... I remember liking the OG movie a lot after seeing it about 10 years ago.
I never saw the other two until this weekend.
The humor is on point, the tension was real, and the way they set up every plot point in advance
This is definitely a GOAT trilogy.
for making a dope series and knowing when to leave it alone. They never brought it back 30 years later just to mess it up like they did Indy 4 or pretty much every Terminator after the first two.
They just gave us a dope trilogy with a satisfying conclusion, and kept it moving.
Back to the Future never got Last Jedi'd...
...at least not yet
As far as GOAT trilogies go...
Back to the Future
OG Star Wars (IV, V, and VI)
Toy Story
Indiana Jones (until 4 messed it up)
John Wick
Shout outs to Rocky and Harry Potter. They're not trilogies, but they're all pretty consistently dope. The only real miss for Rocky IMO was part V, but even that movie wasn't horrible to the point of killing the franchise like X-men 3 or the Last Jedi did.
