Does anyone still remember the PS3 launch fiasco?

Same, only reason I switched was because I caught the rrod twice and sold my 360 for a ps3 out of frustration.

I'll be honest, the first few years of the ps3 was rough, psn felt like gaming on a dial up connection when compared to xbox live, the online infrastructure was so much better on 360.

Think this is pretty much the same trajectory for most people.

What Microsoft was doing and whatever Sony wasn’t doing completely stopped at a certain point that made most temporary Xbox fans switch back to PlayStation.

I don’t think something like that will ever happen again. Sony has been too dominant for too long at this point

Lol some of yall are showing your age/tech ignorance. The PS3 was the second best Blu Ray player ON THE fukkING MARKET at a time when the tech was very new and the best players were ALL north of a grand. Add the the initial backwards compatibility and it easily made it worth the price

I convinced my supervisor at the time to cop it cause he wanted a reasonably priced BD player

He wasn't a gamer or any of that shyt, but he was like cause it was a good BD player

Not really, i didn’t really have a strong loyalty to sony before the ps4 generation. I still kind of don’t, they just make the best games so thats where i stan

Before ps4, i just went wherever the square enix and capcom games were

Yall had a one yr head start and still couldn’t capitalize on our slow start a yr later and yall never recovered since then
PS3 came back and had they foot on yall heads

And fast forward to PS5 and it just seems nothing changed since then foot still on yall heads comfortably

You know whats funny? Phil Spencer has been head of Xbox for half the time the brand has been around, and he still doesn’t get any of the blame for it’s current situation

I just remember that one month break when the hackers took over. I enjoyed it though because I felt like a scientist modding my PS3 and doing those call of duty challenge lobbies

That was by far the most awkward launch in history. Sony knew they messed up almost immediately; the tech demos used as footage, high price, poor launch games. I ended up getting one when God of War 3 dropped and enjoyed it towards the end of the cycle but most of that gen was dominated by my 360.

I was a 360 stan around 2007. Funny enough it took until 2010 for me to realize greatness awaited me on the blue side
