Does anyone else get the feeling that Quentin Tarantino is a racist?

It doesn't necessarily have to add to the story. Sometimes dialogue can tell you something about the motives or personality of a character. And some white folks use the word ******, whether you like it or not. I don't see why that should be censored, especially if we're not censoring words like wetback, fakkit, and gook. It's hypocritical.

Honestly, I'm far more offended by two-dimensional portrayals of racism like Crash or The Blind Side or whitewashed stories like The Help than a white character in a movie using the word ******. Or even the word ****** being wiped out of new editions of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

this, ya'll are bafoons if you don't think white people say ****** in the comforts of loved ones or friends. The table scene in Reservoir Dogs is a good example of what he's going for i think

its just for edgy purposes, stop beinga p*ssy. dead ****** storage is a classic im sorry to say it but yea it is. its supposed to make you feel uneasy like "wtf is going on here he cant say that to juelz" obviously QT's character in PF had some juice where he can say whatever the fukk he want. not every piece must advance the story. people are blatantly racist in the world..

plus, he and the rza are good buddies, had him score his flick (first original score he ever used) and put his name behind his movie after mentoring him. jackie brown is another example. dude just pushes the boundarys. im sure plenty jews were upset at inglorious b*stards too

:beli: did I actually say I believe he's racist?

no, so stfu :russ:

and where's that gif of cam niccaplease'ing...y'all nikkas say some bollocks like this and then be the first to :leostare: a cac that comes out with "but I have black friends"

Tarantino is one of those new age "keep it real" white folks. It's a totally different type of racism...if you even want to call it that

Dude will have black friends, love back music, but you start talking to them it's "hey man, it's just the facts, scientifically the tests show that blacks are intellectually inferior to whites man"

I mean there's a lot of different ways you can look at it...

Either he is A: providing social commentary on the unmentioned and undercover racism that still exists within this country, B: like someone said before he's a bigot fascinated with black culture, or C: he's just an outright racist(i personally don't agree with b or c).

Martin Scorsese does this a lot in his films as well, it's just not as blatant and reoccurring.

I grew up in southwest florida, and the most wild shyt to me was that there were kids who were racist rednecks that drove pick trucks with confederate flags, all the while bumping tupac or biggie and dressing/talking like wigger eminem clones.

Being a white man myself, who's lived on and off in the south my whole life, I can tell you from experience there are numerous people who you wouldn't even expect of not being tolerate of other races that would drop "n" bombs the moment there was no black people in the room.

Pulp fiction had racial slurs about other people ..you just going to forget the Christopher Walken monologue to lil butch
He's had shots throw at everyone in all his movies
It's just his perspective on the characters I don't believe he's racist:ufdup:

I think it's mainly characterization. Pulp fiction/ reservoir dogs is about ruthless criminals, so were surprised when we find out they're racists? Although I do agree the "dead n***** storage" scene came out of nowhere. But I did notice in that scene when they show his wife returning home, that she is actually a black woman, making his use of the N word ironic. I could be wrong on that one though. Also, I read that Quentin was raised by a single mother who kept a lot of black company around him growing up, to the point where a lot of the male figures he looked upto growing up were black. He also is a huge fan of the blaxploitation genre, hence movies like Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction, where the black characters liberally use the N word as a term of endearment and the white characters use it in a racist way. I think it's a little polarizing to just dismiss QT as a racist bc he uses the word in his movies. I think he paints a pretty realistic picture of how people of all races in this country talk behind closed doors.

When I was watching Inglorious b*stards, I was caught off guard when the N-word was dropped out of nowhere. The same thing with Kill Bill Vol. 2 . The Kill Bill one was completely unnecessary. That's when I started to notice that he puts it in every movie. :rudy:

:smh: @ people thinking that is not how people act.

black, white and whoever uses racial slurs all the time and the people who he usually writes about are not people of high moral standers so of course they would use racial slurs.

IMO, it's more dangerous to ban white characters from saying ****** at all on screen than otherwise. It's never a good idea to betray reality.
