Does anyone else feel like the money is in Bryan as a chaser rather than a champion?

as much as I love Bryan, I feel like he'd be a better chaser than actual WWE champion. The early word has RKO cashing in on a victorious Bryan, and I'm not even mad at it. I feel like that's actually the best case scenario.

He's too much of an underdog, and the underdog story only works when the underdog IS an underdog. Once the underdog overcomes the odds, its like okay...now what?

at least with RKO cashing in on a victorious Bryan, Bry will still have his big moment, RKO would be the biggest heel in the company over night, and we could watch a nice feud with Bryan chasing Orton.

He did pretty well on Smackdown as WHC, don't know yet about being the main champ though.

Randy's a better chaser too and I think Cena's better as champ. Hopefully, they feel Bryan still has a place in that scenario after SS.

Bryan is a better chaser than a champion in my opinion. He should eventually get the title but the E should juice as much out of his chase as possible. Once he gets the belt the first thing a lot of people will think is "now what?".

Bryan is probably my favorite performer right now, but I co-sign this 100%.

He's built up too much as the underdog, him having a long and dominate reign wouldn't even look right. I'm hoping he can get 3 months like Benoit did, but him chasing is the ideal situation and a fued with Orton >>> a fued with Cena

to add a bit to my first post, I'm not saying that I can't buy Bryan as a WWE champion, because I could... but he'd kinda have to be a heel imo. As a dominant, vicious pitbull like heel, I could for sure see him carrying the WWE strap for a minute. But with him as is, I feel like if he won the WWE title, people would be excited for a week before the "now what" feeling takes over.

He can be a great champion if given the chance to be. He's always stepped up when given a main strap so I have no doubt he will succeed as the main guy instead of the chaser.

Cena has been an underdog champion for 8 years now and it has worked (money wise) because he's Superman type of guy. Bryan can't be that guy but he sure as hell can be Backlund/Hart, "face any challanger" type of champ. As long as he doesn't go a Cena (against all odds) or Miz ("people always doubted me, I'll prove them wrong again") route, he can be even better as champ than chaser.

That's one way of looking at it but he's too vicious and too good not to be believable as a champion. As long as people put over his finisher, he'll be alright. It's good to chase the first one for awhile or after a screwjob but that can't be your monthly character. That's some Jeff Hardy type limitation. That's not good enough..especially for someone who proves he is capable of beating opponents by being BETTER than them.

yeah well if bryan wins at ss we're working on something and plan to conspire with a good group of about 25 people to immediately storm the ring in celebration of the title change to the point where it'll make it impossible for orton to cash in that night..

hahahahahahahahaha

Am I the only one who wants DBry and Cena to have a classic back and forth match @ Summerslam resulting in Cena winning then Randy cashes in and turns heel as the new WWE Champion.

Then for months have Dbry get that "Road to Wrestlemania" push by winning the Rumble and beating Randy Orton for the WWE Title @ Wrestlemania 30

I know that sounds like a lackluster main event but im sure Wrestlemania will have plenty of other main event attractions (Undertaker streak, Austin, Lesnar, Rock, etc)

the pop for when D-bry finally wins the "real" big title and at the same ppv he lost that scrub big gold belt in 18 seconds

bruh, Orton cashing in on Cena would draw one of the loudest pops ever, especially if Cena had just went over Bryan. That shyt would NOT turn Orton heel.

but Orton cashing in on a Bryan who had just won would turn Orton into a MONSTER heel instantly, and Bryan would probably be the most over face on the roster just off general principal. I mean, you saw what happened when he lost in 18 seconds. The fans got behind him because they felt it was a wrong doing. If Orton cashes in on him and ruins his moment, he'll gain so much fukkin sympathy. The crowd would probably wild out for him the next night like 2 Pac resurrected or something.

I was with you till the Bryan/Orton WWE Title match @ WM30. That screams WHC title match and won't push Bryan to the next level... IF we were going this way, let Orton lose it back to Cena at RR (while letting DB win the Rumble), and let Cena/Bryan close WM30 with Bryan going over clean... *insert typical Cena WM heel turn reference* ....
