People got upset when I pointed out she's getting the same push that Kendrick got as a plant. There's just this notion that talented people can't be plants. Doesn't necessarily matter either way if good music comes from it. But it does matter when we compare these plants to legends who actually got it off the muscle organically.
Someone who essentially pops out of nowhere and gets every look, placement, award, etc etc without really putting in the work to do so. They have no real grass roots history. The industry has a certain goal for the artist and they do whatever they can and pull whatever strings to make that happen. It’s not just label promotion. Its preferential unearned label promotion.
I've spoken on it,but the basic elements are fake cosigns, fake narratives, forced pushed that don't match reality on any landscape. Not much buzz with any demographic on any platform(internet or the streets). But cosigns from legends, and all sorts of awards designed to look organic. While in reality the artist has less motion than Herschell Walker at a spelling bee,UNTIL the fake cosigns, fake narratives, fake accolades start to work. Convincing more fans they should be checking for the artist. This is a far cry from normal label promotion. Regular push by the machine is more like supplements you could by at GNC,that could potentially get you suspended. But you could argue it's not cheating. Industry plant promotion is a shot straight to the ass, that labels have gotten better at hiding from detection#BALCOechi
Damn sure ain't organic and deserves an asterisk. This is the TDE way, can't argue so far its been for a good cause. Both Kendrick and SZA turned out to be great artist who deserved the forced push. I got a feeling they about to go 2 for 3
Labels want fans to believe they discovered these artist organically. And they were coincidentally there from the beginning, to see the meteoric rise that happened 6 months to a year later.
Makes fans go harder believing they were apart of movement before it blew. But in reality there was no movement originally. Just more people gradually being made to check for an artist due to fake cosigns/narratives/awards. It's essentially the labels faking it,until the artist ACTUALLY makes it

She has 12 million more monthly listeners than lil baby (she has 44 million listeners)
Yall still believe this organic? I havnt heard a single doechi song outside this forum yet lil baby every where even if his decline has started
Lil baby has done a headlining solo ARENA nationwide tour. Are we to believe doechii bigger than lil baby
At least when Meg The Stallion had this amount of listeners, she had multiple top charting hits, beyonce and cardi b features, viral social media moments/dances, public relationships, etc. you couldnt escape her, even if you werent a fan
Gun to your head and you have to recite a doechii verse or name 2 solo hit songs without google, do you live?

"When Kendrick Lamar released Section.80 in 2011, it was again rumored that Interscope was funneling money into the project’s promotion. But again, nothing was confirmed, and rumors were just that – rumors. The official announcement of the signing came a year later, in 2012, just a couple months in advance of GKMC‘s release. But in the upcoming episode of Talking Points, frequent TDE collaborator Terrace Martin told TSS, “Kendrick was signed to Interscope before they made it public, and he still dropped Section.80, and that was indie.”
When asked to clarify if Kendrick was signed before Section.80, the producer repeated himself, “Yeah. And he still dropped Section.80, but that was an independent project.”[/b]
Funneling money into a project on the low is definitely one of the elements of an industry plant. I don't particularly like this brand of promotion. But it's nothing that completely disqualifies you. So I'm not sure why fans hate to acknowledge it. Other than the fact they know what we know. When GOAT discussions happen,it will come into play as one of the "cons". Rightfully so,in hip-hop getting it out the mud frfr hits different.
Industry plants never had to prove they can take the internet by storm, lock up they city locally, let along the streets nationwide#Asterisk #BALCO
