Well fukk me I don’t even know where to start with that.

Life has been really hard the past month and this was just the tonic. A lot to unpack so I’ll be brief for now but

5 classic Doctors, 2 classic companions and then Jo Grant, Melanie Bush and Ian Chesterton ans a last minute surprise. Ian fukking Chesterton. I full on sobbed. That broke me. A quick mention in the 50th on the sign outside Coal Hill School but finally here he was.

Here’s a short trailer too

I have to say though, I am less than impressed with Gatwa’s patwa.

Sounds like this annoying fake Jafakeans you get in London.

“Yo Davros, what you saying bruv. Man’s going to fukk you up bruv you get me.”

fukk out of here with that shyt.

Mad story, a huge waste of Dan. He could have filled Vinder’s time. Overall a fantastic end to a mixed tenure.

So the Disney acquisition is going to give them creative input. I thought it was just a license thing.

Disney sucks. Their acquisition of Power Rangers was some of the worst.

Doctor who doesn’t need bigger budgets. The stories need to get better

As far as I know the BBC still hold all creative decision and no hold over the licence whatsoever so they can't make any spin-off's etc.

The BBC will retain ultimate editorial control of future series, The Telegraph understands, so the tone and content of the show may not deviate dramatically from the canon of Doctor Who.

The public service broadcaster also retains the intellectual property rights to Doctor Who, so Disney will be unable to produce spin-offs of other material based on the concept.

So basically they can tell Disney to fukk off if they suggest something that they don't agree with.

I trust RTD completely but I'm wary of what's to come. I'm hoping that he'll do a spin-off with the old companions just in case I can't be arsed with the main show anymore.

Breh, this send-off was ambitious as hell. And honestly it was very well done, IMO

Only thing I didn't like was The Master. This Master started off having this.... barely held back rage oozing from him in every scene.

This episode, he's like The Master on coke. I chalked it up to him being hopped up on whatever Cybermen stuff he ingested (:dame:), had him aderalled up and geeked out.

Lotta touching scenes too, if you're a lifelong fan old enough to be an oldschool fan. Who ever thought I'd tear up at the mention of Audric's name?

:heh: it was weird seeing how Ace's voice hasn't changed, despite me knowing she does voice work for Big Finish. It was good to see Tegan still.... scared and bossy

It's also kinda telliing that even in a send-off, Jodie wasn't really around for half of it and everyone else did all of the heavy lifting. Very Chibnall.

I'm gonna miss you, Yaz :to:

Honestly I'm gonna miss Jodie, too. I wish RTD or Moffatt coulda done something with her.

RTD2

"It's the great honour of my job to find the next generation of talent, and Millie shines like a star already. She's brilliant, dynamic, clever and a wonderful actor.

"As a Coronation Street fan, I've seen Millie survive chases, guns and sieges, but that's nothing compared to what lies ahead for Ruby Sunday."

I hope her character is from a different time period/planet altogether.

I kinda hate how Nu-Who got away from that. Before (and Big Finish still does this) companions could come from anywhere. anywhen and damn near be any kinda alien.
I doubt it but we'll see. I'm going to give RTD's book The Writer's Tale a read again soon. Excellent book and account of what he went through show running the first time around. Will upload it if I can find it outside of my iPad and if anyone else is interested.
