So in other words, it's Rondo's fault that Ray left :comeon:

:mindblown: at Allen scapegoating Rondo for not getting the ball more in the offense while being demoted to 6th man. It must've been Rondos fault Ray couldnt beat out Bradley too.

Rondo got Ray some of the most open looks he's ever had in his career :mindblown:

Ray can't create his own shot off the dribble anymore, nor can he handle point guard, nor can he play good defense consistently, nor can he rebound, at all. His passing had me like :damn: all season too. Im mad he left the Celtics though right? :youngsabo:

Doc did a masterful job of protecting Rondo in this, regardless of whether or not it was honest is irrelevant. Fact is, Rondo is the cornerstone of the franchise and its important to have players wanting to play on his team for the vitality of the franchise going forward. Not only does this protect Rondo's rep a bit, but it is a great sign of leadership to the team and the rest of the league that Doc is a coach who will protect his players and shoulder the burden.

Others in the league and media listen and keep note of almost everything said nowadays. Additionally, it doesn't take much to damage a coach's reputation around the NBA amongst players. The more instances of Doc showing his leadership the better. Some were questioning if Doc's heart was still in it not too long ago, and saying stuff like this shows that he's still down with the squad 100.
