think Wade's cosign of Pat is what made Bron comfortable with the idea of playing for him. Bron trusts Wade a lot so probably figured he and Pat would be ok as long as Wade is there too
Always heard it was the other way. Bron didnt want Spo coaching but Wade told him you dont want Riles coming down to the sidelines because Pat dontd play that shyt

yeah well Steve Baller just locked Doc back up today so we've avoided another debacle :whew:

As another poster already stated, the story was that Wade was telling Bron he don't want them Pat Riley problems. Bron was thirsty for Pat to coach and Wade was cool with Spo

It's crazy how people quickly forget.

*Doc has blown 3-1 playoff leads multiple times (correct me if I'm wrong)

*The Clippers got bounced out of the 1st/2nd rd four consecutive years despite having CP3,Griffin and DJ.....Doc took the Clippers no further than V. Del Negro did...Is V.Del negro a great coach?

I think Doc would've been a nice battery to these young guys who do have hustle but some times get down on their game, like Kuz, BI and Zo. Probably wouldve maintained the defensive intensity Walton brought in too. But they really need an offensive guru, because these guys have never even been taught a system in their time in the league. They all came from colleges with elite coaches, so I know they'd catch on, but you can't just expect them to play smart without some type of regulations

WTF does Brown and Karl got to do with this?

Doc is better than both of them...But he's not great as some people are proclaiming him to be.

Great and Good are two different levels.

Top 5 in the league is GREAT. Being able to manage ego's n superstars and win a ring is GREAT. I consider Brad Stevens a great basketball mind/strategist, but as we can see he is having trouble getting his young stars to mesh and completely buy into his system on a nightly basis. Doc did that wit the Celtics VETERAN STARS. He's also somehow turning shyt into gold wit this Clip squad that lost their best player a few months ago. He is a GREAT basketball coach.
