It was a failure in that it didn’t change the financial system over the last ten years, but it did inspire the Bernie Sanders campaigns and got a lot of people thinking class consciousness and solidarity.

Lets revisit this in 10 years. :manny:

They didn’t do shyt but hangout and make demands. They also inspired the tea party…..

The George Floyd protest was the realest shyt this country seen in decades and that was a combination of black people having enough of cops and people being tired of house arrest

Obama’s first election inspired the tea party which was in 2009. :dwillhuh:

Sadly this did even less than OWS and has even lead to more police funding and support.

Idk it sent those pigs to jail. Systemically you’re right but the way he was murdered just got everyone pissed!

We also see the cops being arrested and convicted a lot quicker….. for now. Every so often we have to burn shyt down to remind these motherfukkers we don’t like them and aren’t just happy to be here…..

Those Minneapolis officers were basically sacrificed to keep the system going. Ain’t shyt change.

I wonder if the protests weren’t during an election year would there have been more progress?

OWS and the George Floyd protests both needed a genuine leader that we could focus on and direct the masses.

i dont think it is near its end, so i cant say success or failure. populism in general keeps rising, slowly but steadily, and the right's only counter is to bring up the flaws of obamacare. this thing could keep building steam until 2016 where the movement may take more of a defined form in two parties having to create some specific answers to income inequality that dont merely end with raising the minimum wage or lowering taxes on "job creators". we'll see...
yeah, this shyt is a failure, LOL

It’s common sense though that would happen. People weren’t necessarily mad at the system as much as they were worried they wouldn’t be able to benefit. When those opportunities open up, people’s mindset and priorities change.

I don’t think it was all of them that was in that vibe. Just charlatans like him.

I think the protests had more to do with Cov-Id lockdowns than the election year. Without undermining the legitimacy of the reasons behind the protests (which were legitimate), a lot of people just needed a reason to leave the house and had shyt else to do.
