Never you mind....
I don't "lend" but if I have the money I do give it to family (only family). I just feel like if you can't risk losing the money (not getting it paid back) then you should just keep it :yeshrug:

I never give people money with intent on getting it back. If family need some money and I'm able..I'll do it. If they end up giving it back.....thats cool I guess..but I'm not thinking about it or waiting for anything.

Never borrow money you can't afford to lose.

But if you are morbidly curious to find out what type of people you are friends with, go ahead and borrow money to them.

I can usually sense when somebody is about to ask me for money depending on how the conversation is going. What I usually do is cut them off mid sentence and ask to borrow $50.

I think it says something about your character that you were willing to help her out at such a risk to your own situation. :D
In the future though, make sure you can afford to give it away. Don't let your kindness be to a fault.

I am too nice sometimes.... gift and a curse.

I don't need it but I didn't want to buy a new pair of Chuck Taylors some im kind of mad lol

If you lend money, don't plan on getting it back. My immediate family is always hitting me up. I always fold but it gets draining. I gotta live too you know what I'm saying?

There are exceptions, esp. in business, but yeah, what has been said in here, never lend what you can't afford to lose...well, I have taken my share of losses. My friend shot me 2k a month ago, at a moments notice, I'm grateful my friends are like that, and they can get if from me too, family would give me the craziest look if I asked for 2 grand...

It does ruin friendships and relationships though, one friend owes another 1500 right now, and dude just won't pay it back, or even shoot him 5, and he had 15k just a few months ago, hes owed the money since 1/10, and hasn't paid anything, to the point, they are hardly friends anymore. Even if he pays them, I'd still never look at them the same, just cuz of the disregard and lack of concern for paying it back

I just lent out $50.

I only did it because its my cousin, and she said she gonna pay me back next week. :mjpls:

I hate lending out money though, man. :snoop: But, I'm always prepared to take an L and just chalk it if they try to get over on me :manny:

first off....$50 is a writeoff; put that as an expense on your taxes or something coz u aint cutting that back...2nd family members dont pay back so I give money with no expectation of seeing the money back...acquaintances never see my bread :whew:

If anyone in my immediate family needs money its because they mismanaged their finances horribly and expect me to bail them out. So no, I don't let them borrow anymore.

I'm a little selfish about the little money/belongings I have because I appreciate what I have more than most people:yeshrug:

I also hate the feeling of having "money in the air" very much. Its hard enough getting basic stuff like USB/HDMI cables or exercise equipment back from someone, forget money.

I like how everyone here is the loaner and not recipient.. Typic Coli
I borrow money from my bank and credit union off loans and credit cards when I need to. The type of people who can't do that are the type of people who are most likely not to pay you back if you loan them money. Banks are in the business of lending money and if they won't fukk with a person on the lending tip why should you?

I just give it out if they need it. I don't lend because then I have to chase them down for it. However, there is a limit and I grill them a little bit if they're being foolish with their cash.
