Technology doesn't scare me. I'm generally excited about the new trends and try to be what they call an "early adopter"
But for some reason these recent A.I. advances have given me a little anxiety. We've actually had A.I. booms and winters in the past, but lately I've been listening and reading WAAAY too many smart people saying, this is it, we're here. And we're not ready for what's coming
Right off the bat, imagine a world in JUST 3-5 YEARS, where roughly 70-80 percent of labor can be done by advances in A.I.
Because of globalization, things move quick and won't be limited to the US. We just hit the 8 billion people mark. Are we ready for large masses of people who are essentially NOT needed for work.
What about when any Tom, dikk and Harry can essentially train large language models that are BETTER THAN CHATGPT 4 in their garage to launch cyber attacks or teach them how to build bio weapons.
