:laff: This is the kind of backwards thinking that a lot of Black men have.
Black men in general don't seem to respect Black women.
Men in general don't really respect women, but it becomes so much more apparent with Black men because they're the type to constantly rail against oppressive systems, and talk about disrespect, only to go home and call their girlfriend's "bytches."
Look at Richard Pryor and numerous others like him.
Bwga kind of crazy ass generalization is this? Rich fukked with white women btw. You prove my point that black women are allowed to just throw generalizations and stereotypes about black around with no care and without being checked.

A. I'm a Black man.
B. I spend my days with both Black women and Black men, so I know their opinions and the like.
C. As a rational person who has been Black their whole life and lived with and around Black people my whole life, I can say with certainty that there is a significant lack of respect for Black women coming from Black men. Doesn't matter what group, young, adolescent, adult, old, church, park, college, etc.
I didn't at all prove your point.
And I don't recall Richard Pryor putting any of those White women's lives in danger like he did Pam Grier's. One of the most famous Black women at that time.

Pick up a dictionary

re·spect
rəˈspekt/
noun
  1. 1.
a feeling of deep admiration for someone or something elicited by their abilities, qualities, or achievements.
decent
[dee-suh nt]

adjective
1.
conforming to the recognized standard ofpropriety, good taste, modesty, etc., as inbehavior or speech.

Decency is given respect is earned.

Right b/c bm go around calling random bw that they don't know from Adam bytches and hoes b/c they earned it right?

You're really trying to play semantic like they're aren't levels to respect; the basic being decency?

:comeon: Calling bw bytches and hoes isn't decency or respect so either way the shyt it lacking. Feel free to address it.

i love how rappers become the defacto ambassadors of the psyche of the black man toward black women... to the simple-minded.

i won't involve myself in debate; i'll just say: don't believe the hype
You can argue both points, black rappers and athletes are prominent in media and society and their are not many black men represented fully in other spaces. If does have an effect.

It's not my fault you're mixing words up. I'm just clarifying. I don't know the type of black men you speak of personally. Maybe you entertain toxic energy in your cipher but I don't. :ld:

Black men know where they sit in the hegemonic racial hierarchy.

And nobody wants to be at the absolute bottom.

Black men's unyielding and very public disdain for Black women is about power. They need to feel that there's one group they are more powerful than - that there's one group they're better than.

It's why dark skinned Black boys tease dark skinned Black girls.

It's why Black male workers will be ordered around and humbled by their white bosses all day at work, and then come home and abuse the women in the home.

It's why Black men denigrate Black women to their non-black romantic partners and colleagues.

It's why underachieving Black men who can't get their own lives straight, revel in music and media that attacks and degrades Black women.

Black men disrespect Black women because we're the only people they can do it to.
