I doubt everything just goes dark...i'd assume when your vision and everything associated with it starts to go out of whack you'd probably see white light/dark and lighter colored spots in your visual field like most people claim they see when they have near death experience.

The good news is that shyt probably looks amazing, akin to a laser show going off inside your eyeballs
