Do you agree with this critical assessment on Rick Ross's career?

It was always like this, people always loved crap. It was never about cutting edge music for most fans, that's why CEOs are having bidding wars for Odd Future and Chief Keef.

Only thing that kept things in balance was most high quality music and hip-hop classics come out of the East and West Coast. The South has been always about buffonary, I see Ross no different than Vanilla Ice or Young MC.

It was never this bad though. The South has flooded the universe with horse shyt (I'm not even gonna refer to it as music). I think that's what on this forum mean when they hate this era of Hip Hop. Ye, there's always been terrible music around but it never dominated the genre.

2 of my favorite artists of all time are Ice Cube and Tupac. Ice Cube never lived that life. I feel if Tupac was a thug during his child hood, he would have not acted out so much later in life. He probably would be alive, he violated a lot of street codes and it got him killed. There's a good chance Ross committed crimes and sold drugs, we know Ice Cube and Tupac were law abiding most of their lives before music.

I don't hold Ross being fake against him. But the music Ross makes is not very creative and lacks depth. You don't have to be pro-black for your music to be very good, look at Cypress Hill, Beanie Siegel, and Scarface. Ross music is trash. I don't need rappers to end world hunger or bring world peace, but I don't need them to insult my intelligence either. This is what Ross music represents, mindless garbage.

They all say that. That's the new catch phrase by the Ross haters to get u to take them seriously. Whenever i see that "bu bu but im a fan" nonsense after a hate filled rant i already know what's behind that avatar. Internet fans are very sick and deviant individuals.

My issue with these phonies has nothing to do with them having an opinion about Ross, my issue is 9 outta 10 things that they have a problem with Ross about could be easily applied to multiple other rappers that they probably listen to.

Take Ross' name outta that video and that sounds like a perfect description of Jay Z.

I totally agree. To single Ross out is pure comedy. Ross is not the problem. I can't even criticize him, because I've heard about 10 Rick Ross songs, and most of them were features. He has empty rhymes, but so many other rappers fall in the same category. At the end of the day its entertainment, but eventually there will be a day when Chief Keef, Tyler, The Creator, and Kreayshawn will be all you will find on the radio. That would be a real tragedy.
