Do you agree with Gen-Z being so quick to quit jobs they hate

That's because they got the full brunt of helicopter parenting and coddling.
honestly it's not even that, it's just they want everything to be instant without working. I'm all for people getting paid what they are worth and being treated correctly, but you still have to do work, they don't understand that. Even with OF you have to be attractive enough to pull in that money, with youtube you have to be lucky enough and have something that is interesting enough to pull in viewers and your life now revolves around filming.

I think it's because they're not invested in the same shyt as older generations. Too expensive to own a house or support a family, equivalent sports cars are untouchable, so why worry about making $X/year when I can be happy in a 2 bedroom apartment and Netflix?

:camby:

Your way of life and bootstraps to success will result in the total decimation of society. After the pandemic when Baby Boomers are retiring by the millions, no one wants to hear the old way anymore.

Study the French Revolution, cause America right now is dangerously close to getting there.

Over time certain things change like working from home but here is one thing that wont ever change. If you have no skills, no experience, and no real specialized education you will be broke and dusty. Yall are lazy, entitled and anti-education and wonder why you are struggling.

The blue print to success is laid out. Its not a secret. There are pinned threads in the 6 Figures 6 Certs forum about getting started in IT careers right now from 2012. I guarantee you every person who followed the advice in that thread from 2012 or 2013 is making well over 100k right now. EVERY SINGLE PERSON.

THERE ARE NO EXCUSES. The smart people who decide today to look in that forum and follow that advice will be making over 100k 5 years from now. It wont be instant. The grind isnt fun. You will miss out on things and might have to sacrifice your social life temporarily. It will take a lot of hard work and getting paid peanuts for a few years but if you stick with it you are guaranteed to get paid well once you have 3 to 4 years experience under your belt. The blueprint is there. Folks are just too lazy to put in the work and want to live like celebrities they worship on Instagram.

If I tell you there is a garaunteed way to make over 100k in 5 years by following the IT thread advice and you CHOOSE to drive uber and door dash instead so you dont have a "boss" or have to sacrifice then that's your choice. Stand on that and stop complaining.

Again, its :camby: when you damn near have to go to an unknown online forum, go to a detailed thread where 99.998% of the general population don't know of, and do rigorous training for a decent living. No other generation prior to Gen Y was forced to do that.

Just even resorting to do that for a living is :skip: if you look at it from afar. Thats jumping through multiple hoops, just to work in a place where you're mentally abused 8 to 10 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Im glad Gen Z ain't taking no shyt from these old employers. Maybe "the market" can correct itself and do the right thing.

I used that thread to make a point that the info is out there. A google search would get your similar info. If that is too much work for you then you are indeed lazy and entitled like I said. Other generation were definitely forced to go through rigorous training to make a living. Even for factory and trade jobs back in the day your started at the bottom as an apprentice getting paid peanuts. There was never a time in history where people just made a bunch of money without experience or putting in work.

And Cert gang aint mentally abused. Dont know who told you that lie. I work remote pretty much on my own schedule and I'm in sr mgmt now. Took me over 10 years of grinding and sacrifice in my 20's but it paid off and I would do it again. I'm living the life yall idolize on Instagram and Im being nice enough to tell you how I got there. Most Software engineers on my team are barely working 20 hours a week and command salaries higher than doctors.

You don't want to jump through hoops to get a career that will set you up for life but you got no problem jumping through hoops begging me for tips working uber eats and doordash. I really don't care what young folks do but don't complain when you had choices.

What you talking about?

U think Gen Y had it easy in them factories? They didn’t have a boss? They didn’t have expectations? They didn’t have to learn new shyt and get certifications?

Gen Z and young millennials is the one taking advantage of these IT type jobs with remote opportunities and contract positions.

These IT guys aren’t living “decent” they’re balling out.

I don’t get it, don’t they gotta be there at least 6 months to get unemployment?

People trying to work a few weeks then quit to try to get unemployment? :gucci:

What u mean by pre deny unemployment?

I see u said y’all don’t fire people but what about the rare cases where someone gets laid off?

Who was getting 4K a month for a year and a half? :gucci:
You have to work 26 weeks but it doesn't stop them from trying :russ:. And yes because of all the unemployment fraud employers in some states can pre-deny unemployment ie we can give a reason for your termination to the state before you even try to apply. We don't lay anymore off. They only way you get fired is if you steal, threatened someone, are caught with liquor, drugs etc...all of which will get you denied for unemployment.

This is so fukked :dead:I gotta fact check this but then again I can't be surprised such a law exists in certain states:upsetfavre:

You'd do well to hear him out.

There's a certain irony in people rejecting bootstrap talk but running for side hustles like Uber and Door Dash.

It is the modern day equivalent of shining shoes and cleaning chimneys.

You aint retiring off uber, youtube or door dash either. Folks actually gonna be in a worse position and wish they had a simple 9 to 5 B.S, office job when they get older. At least those corporate folks might have a 401k or something.
That 401k in 30 years will be worth as much as social security is today. which is not much. better than nothing, but still not much. so if I were 20y/o today then I'd definitely ask myself why slave 40 years for that?

But who is really slaving for 40 years? You only "slave" the first 2 or 4 years of any career. Folks in here are too lazy to do even that. After a few years of experience you should be progressing and if you are not that is on you. Working from home gang and cert gang aint slaving. The days of working at one job for your whole career are over but you still need the education and experience to to job hop to better paying and better wlb positions.

Better than nothing is better than nothing. And I have yet to hear a realistic alternative from the folks that are against working. Everyone can't be social media "influencers". Aint no revolution happening. These same folks quitting will be crawling right back to these same employers once they realize they played themselves trying to make a career from uber and doordash just like all the folks that wanted to be rappers back in the day. Going back to school and starting from the bottom at 40 aint the move but that what will be in most of these folks future.
