Brolic... Alcoholics
So I'm browsing ESPN's boxing page and check out their P4P rankings.

Nothing surprising at the top: Floyd Mayweather.

But the rest of the list seems up for debate.

1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Roman Gonzalez
3. Gennady Golovkin
4. Manny Pacquiao
5. Guillermo Rigondeaux
6. Andre Ward
7. Timothy Bradley Jr
8. Sergey Kovalev
9. Wladimir Klitschko
10. Miguel Cotto

I know Chocolatito and GGG are good, but have they really beaten the kind of quality competition to deserve to be #2 and #3?

:patrice:

ESPN's pound-for-pound rankings: Andre Ward is back

To a casual fan, can Y'all explain why Danny Garcia isn't mentioned on here?
Danny Garcia is a welterweight now, and at 147, he's not anywhere near the top of that division, let alone one of the 10 best fighters in the world.

In his last fight at Junior Welterweight, Garcia looked highly unimpressive against Lamont Peterson (frankly, I felt Peterson won that fight).

While ESPN.com's rankings in P4P are up for debate, their rankings of the Welterweight division seems a lot more reasonable.

1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Manny Pacquiao
3. Timothy Bradley
4. Keith Thurman
5. Kell Brook
6. Amir Khan
7. Shawn Porter
8. Danny Garcia
9. Marcos Maidana
10. Sadam Ali

Coli members might debate the order of some of the men in the Top 7, but I would be surprised if anyone ranked Garcia higher than 8th.

In fact, given the quality of fighters that Maidana has faced in his career, I would not be surprised if people thought Maidana should rate higher than Garcia....at least until Garcia proves his worth against top notch competition (and no, a light-punching, past-his-prime Paulie Malignaggi does not count as a top notch fighter anymore)

cotto, bradley, and manny shouldn't be on the list

and pound for pound rankings should be 1-3 only
If Manny Pacquiao would have beaten Floyd, he would be the unanimous #1 fighter in the world.
He lost and suddenly he's not even in your Top 10?

I already knew he would lose to Floyd and Manny hasn't fought anybody noteworthy in years

His last opponent worth something was 40 year old Marquez

Manny ain't fight a legit welterweight in god knows how long

he fought zero of the top guys in 140, what does it done other syphon energy off floyd's name

also I go for performance, skill and domination, you got guys who are head and shoulders above their division

How can Manny be ranked pound for pound when he's not even the best guy in his division he don't even got a belt right now
do you know what POUND FOR POUND MEANS

1. Floyd
2. Ward
3. Wlad
4. Rigondeux
5. Kovalev

nobody else is worthy to even be mentioned as p4p

:yeshrug:

That's all you got, because you don't know enough to respond

how anyone who is not the best in their division be ranked p4p, that shyt don't even make sense

they said I was the WOAT when I said Manny would be an easier fight than Maidana

I was right they was wrong so you really need to rocking that banner

everybody knows espn don't know shyt about boxing

and you don't either

If your argument is that P4P should only be 3 fighters, fine.

But arguing that Manny shouldn't be on the list that goes up to 10 is just fukking stupid.

Manny can't be ranked p4p because he's not even better than guys in his division

p4p is to rank fighters who can't fight each other because of weight class

If Manny can't be the best in his own weight how can you say he's better than Rigondeuz and Kovalev who are clearly the best in their class

you manny dikk riders are ridiculous

What the fukk are you talking about?

Who the fukk said P4P is just the top guys by weight class?
You have any fukking idea how stupid that logic is?

That assumes that each division is equal to the other.
What you're saying is that if you have a stacked Welterweight division, but a weak Flyweight division, by definition the Top Flyweight would rank higher than the 2nd best Welterweight in a P4P ranking.

Good lord you're a fukking idiot.
