Those are natives/indigenous people.

Most hispanics not from Mexico look like cacs. where I'm from on the east coast there are no native/mestizo looking hispanics.

There really isn't. The only confusion comes from Americans who want to group all Hispanic people together. You think a Puerto Rican has problems identifying another Puerto Rican from a Mexican, nah, that's us. You think an LA Mexican can't tell the difference between his folks and say a PR from the Bronx or an Ecuadorian? And the same racism is practiced in Latin Countries so no confusion.

I was talking about racial/ color issues when it comes from POO issues... :ld: not where people are specifically...

Ive been asking people for years what value Latinos bring to our lives and no one can provide an adequate answer..Black people offer solidarity to a group that brings nothing, and has brought nothing to the table. What is their contribution to us, since we are struggling and need some assistance? None.
Because I can list numerous things they've adopted from Blacks, but I cant identify one thing that we've taken from them. So what use are they to us in the grand scheme of things? Useless.
You are correct. I never understood why they are alligned with the black cause.
In my experience in depended on who they were raised around. If they were raised around white folks, then they more likely to side with them. If they raised around blacks then they more likely to side with them.

If they were raised around nothing but hispanics then it depend on who those other hispanics side with and the current social climate. If latinos are going through BS then they will go against whites.
I disagree with you about the differences in the upbringing of Latinos. In my experience of growing up around Latinos and directly living in the same environment as they did in the hood I have observed Latinos are dikk riders and will only side with blacks if it's the cool thing to do vs siding in public with the white man. Behind close doors Latinos is calling you all kinda nikkas and voting republican and doing most things contrary to black agendas. Papi at the corner store used to tell us to keep our black asses out his store and get the machete. It's certain Latino neighborhoods they will let you know, "no nikkas" but let them come to our hood, we welcome them with open arms. Blacks are the most accommodating people on earth when it comes to other races. nikkas will claim every other race but their own. Only thing Latinos have adopted that they love is Hiphop and using the N word to call you a nikka to your face...on that friendly sense of the word bullshyt

Now, where do 'White' people come from again???

:jbhmm:

This doesn't include those of Spanish/African descent....like Brazilians, Mexicans, Dominicans, etc.
White people don't come from no where. They carved out Europe from western Asia. They never had a home and sought to establish a place they can say they originated from

Who is dating or has dated Puerto Rican/Cuban/Dominican women?
My bm is Puerto Rican. What I found out is they have no clue who they are and most don't seek to find out past their national identity. When my baby was born and I was filling out the paper work, shyt fukked my head up when wifey was checking that white box under race. Turns out she always claims white and so does every person in her family and all her friends. She said she knows she's not "white white" but what else should she check? Bottom line is in my personal experience, Hispanics tend to lean toward their European heritage as a default if they are ignorant of their own history the same way many mixed black Americans do.

:mjlol: No. Idk why this is difficult for Coli brehs

Hispanics do not think of themselves as "Hispanic" in terms of race. That's something that America invented.

You're either Mexican, Honduran, Puerto Rican, Dominican, etc...

Call a Dominican a Mexican and they'd probably be more pissed off than if you called them black.

There are blonde, blue eyed Mexicans who would:pacspit: at you for calling them white.

America's idea of "race" is not universally applicable breh.

Most black folk have been conditioned to think only in the terms of race that have been imposed
on us by whites. We only think white versus black, that's it.

A good many of us do not comprehend issues of ethnocentrism, nationalism. We can't relate to them.

The "Hispanic" category didn't even exist in American prior to the 1970s.

The Land That Time Forgot
When Labels Don’t Fit: Hispanics and Their Views of Identity
BY PAUL TAYLOR, MARK HUGO LOPEZ, JESSICA MARTÍNEZ AND GABRIEL VELASCO

Among the report’s key findings:

Hispanics and Identity
  • When it comes to describing their identity, most Hispanics prefer their family’s country of origin over pan-ethnic terms. Half (51%) say that most often they use their family’s country of origin to describe their identity. That includes such terms as “Mexican” or “Cuban” or “Dominican,” for example. Just one-quarter (24%) say they use the terms “Hispanic” or “Latino” to most often to describe their identity. And 21% say they use the term “American” most often.
  • “Hispanic” or “Latino”? Most don’t care—but among those who do, “Hispanic” is preferred. Half (51%) say they have no preference for either term. When a preference is expressed, “Hispanic” is preferred over “Latino” by more than a two-to-one margin—33% versus 14%.
  • Most Hispanics do not see a shared common culture among U.S. Hispanics.Nearly seven-in-ten (69%) say Hispanics in the U.S. have many different cultures, while 29% say Hispanics in the U.S. share a common culture.
  • Most Hispanics don’t see themselves fitting into the standard racial categories used by the U.S. Census Bureau. When it comes to race, according to the Pew Hispanic survey, half (51%) of Latinos identify their race as “some other race” or volunteer “Hispanic/Latino.” Meanwhile, 36% identify their race as white, and 3% say their race is black.
  • Latinos are split on whether they see themselves as a typical American. Nearly half (47%) say they are a typical American, while another 47% say they are very different from the typical American. Foreign-born Hispanics are less likely than native-born Hispanics to say they are a typical American—34% versus 66%.
