Ask any Hispanic person if they're "white hispanic" or "black hispanic" and they're going to look at you like :gucci:...and say "I'm from Honduras" (or whatever country).

Now if they were born here they might identify as "Hispanic" if they were raised in the American mindset of what "race" is.

Idk why dudes on the Coli expect afro-hispanics to group themselves with us. If they were raised in Dominican culture around Dominicans...why would they suddenly align with African Americans as adults becuase of the color of their skin?
That had nothing to do with my point. I was speaking on the idea that the American concept of Hispanic as a race isn't how actual Hispanics see themselves. I was saying that although Hispanic individuals might see themselves as unique subsets based on their country of origin , in America they are grouped together for political, economic , and other functional purposes. So while the Hispanic from Venezuela and the 1 from Honduras may not personally see themselves as having anything in common, in America (particularly when it's time to mobilize or receive sum type of benefit) Hispanics r functionally equivalent

They share the same level of fear and inferior that white people have as it relates to black people. They try to hide it with racism.

Some, not all

By white people. They're not the ones making it that way.

Arizona Mexicans and New York Dominicans have very little in common and probably aren't coming togehter for political reasons.

Hatians in Florida and Nigerians in Dallas both are "Black." Are they the same to you?

Honestly, from my limited experience, the only type of "benefit" that would unite someone from Venezuela and someone from Honduras would be regarding immigration. Otherwise the different groups REALLY don't interact like that (ESPECIALLY if they're immigrants).

But that's unfair to say because white America has made tan colored Hispanic people the face of immigration.

Hatian people get deported. Nigerians get deported. Russian people get deported. Chinese people get deported.

So the immigration issue applies to all of those groups. Are you saying they're all the same or...?

My gf (soon to be BM) is Hispanic.

They do NOT like white people :mjlol:

Her mother has a sign in their kitchen that says "Si se puedo." :ehh:

The majority of them here in Texas (that I know anyway, but tbh I don't fuxk with too many republicans) rode for Obama because of his soft stance on immigration.

Am I saying they're "down" or "woke?" Absolutely not.

Do I agree with all their views?
Absolutely not.

But they've been cool people to me. We have just about equal disdain for Donald Trump, we're all pissed off that Zeke Elliott got suspended, and they make some good ass food:manny:
Exactly!....yeah you will find those sell out hispanics that think they are white but for the most part they don't care for white people....but it has been very sickening to see the uprise with cubans and mexicans jumping on the republican train....who you need to be getting on though is the asians....good God those clowns think they are white....:russ:....

I think of you will say yes, simply because i've noticed a lot of black people love to play the victim card nowadays.

how are you going to ask about the '12 and '08 election when the latino vote gave obama the win
well look at what the fukk is going???....can you blame us?...

Certainly Haitians, Nigerians, Jamaicans, etc are all culturally and ethnically different, but "on paper" they are all black. Same goes for Hispanics from varying countries. When political parties solicit votes, they go for the black vote/the Hispanic vote. When statisitcs are reported for any number of things blacks and Hispanics are grouped as whole entities, not separated out by place of origin. When federal funding and grants is given to Hispanic serving institutions the efforts are quantified based on Hispanics as a lump. When racial quotas or proportions are sought they are not nuancing. Mainstream society's racial groupings have an impact on daily lives. Unless u don't exist within the system in any way shape or form the racial category assigned to you holds some credence

I've only seen the people who were born outside the US :cape: for their home countries. I feel like the "Latinos unidos" stuff only exists in pop songs or in the minds of latinos who have lived the majority of their lives in the US.

Depends what type of hispanic.

Dominicans do not like white people , puerto ricans, idk. I wasn't close with many.

Columbians dont associate themselves with whites either.

They don't consider themselves black either, but they definitely do not try and be white.
