Its amazing how Disney has failed Star Wars on ALL fronts and still made their money back. Movies failed, Comics failed, Toys failed, Games failed.
Imagine if these movies were actually good. We would be having a Star Wars phenomenon right now. Star Wars would be taking over the world. Whatever Disney has currently made with Star Wars would have been tripled or quadrupled.

the animated shows are star wars to me. I'm just going to pretend the new movies besides rogue one don't exist.the prequels were decent movies at best but they were coherent stories which added to the lore, and spawned the clone wars and rebels cartoons plus rogue one.
the new ones might be pretty movies but the stories are just pure rubbish and it seems they went out with the intention of saying fukk the lore (especially the 2nd one). the millennial cac soyboy directors thought they were bigger than the star wars universe that had been built up over 40 years and completely ruined it lmao.
at rian johnson winging that shytty storyline thinking he was a genius 
at KK giving him his own trilogy at his denial when he's hit with criticisms.

None of that was straight canon though. The things in the EU were only canon until George made them noncanon with whatever he filmed or put on TV.
Most post Return of the Jedi EU was trash after the Thrawn trilogy. They should've just used George's outline and that way they would've had a solid base and direction for the series
No, i think it's too late in the game unless they make a part 1&2. At this point i am looking forward to The Mandalorian, if done right it can fill in a lot of holes and actually save Disney's Star Wars. Being that it takes place between ROTJ and TFA the possibilities are endless.

At least JJ set Finn up to POSSIBLY be a Jedi and have some type of strategic mind. Even had him use the light saber. What Rian Johnson did to Finn was straight up despicable.
