I see a lot of people are mad about what they said about Big L on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, but was it honest?
His killer is dead. Big L was nice as fukk, don’t get it twisted, but I don’t see him giving you an Only You Remix or Mo Money Mo Problem, classics that people recite word for word. Mase was nice and Cam too and really put Harlem on the map. I think without the legal issues Max B would be the GOAT Harlem rapper, he is to me, but I can’t deny Mase and Cam’s impact, especially with a major backing like Bad Boy and Roc-A-FellaThought this would be related to them being cool with his killer still
They both said Trooper J was the third best rapper ever from Harlem behind them.
Mase had Trooper J over Big L. They said he was the nicest nikka from Harlem basically but never got a chance.
The top 5 Mase had was
1) Mase
2) Cam
3) Trooper J
4) Big L
5) Mike Boogie (Juelz)
Cam'ron
1) Cam
2) Mase
3) Juelz
4) Big L
5) McGruff
Bloodshed is Cam'ron's cousin and he always talks about him, but he probably looks at him differently since it was his cousin. Or maybe he didn't think he was as nice as the othersBloodshed was better than cam AND mase on all those songs they did together, crazy they'd forget him
Everything I was too lazy to type out.i watched the interview, i thought they were being genuine and fair when they were trying to grade and place Big L on where they would rank Big L on their lists
and they both said, it was no slight or disrespect to Big L.
it felt like they were coming from a genuine place and really trying to rank him accordingly to music and memory.
and like Cam said, L didn't really get that time to possibly be that artist he had the talent to be, so it's always a "what if" and question mark
even L's album sorta fell short of what an emcee of his caliber could've made at that time in the 90's. Good album, but not quite up to par IMO
They knew Big L as a childhood friend from how we as the rest of the world knew Big L as an artist and emcee, so I feel like their hearts are in the right place
They didn't come off disrespectful or fake to me, just felt like they were being FAIR and HONEST
Mook and Lux nicer than everybody named. They both said Trooper J was the third best rapper ever from Harlem behind them.
