:mjlol: at anyone thinking this will bomb. This is James Cameron we’re talking about, he arguably has one of the GOAT resumes and two of three highest grossing movies ever under his belt.
Nobody knows who James Cameron is but us old heads

:what: Who asked for this? Yeah the first one did well, but that was a novelty due to 3D, but the movie as a whole was culturally irrelevant and quickly forgotten. And also it was a decade ago.

don't know where this craze all of sudden of acting like avatar wasn't a big thing came from.. nikkas e sheep just regurgitating what they see online

flick was dope.. which story isn't rehashed. shyt was a dope concept, and with him going underwater, who wouldn't want that

let's explore all the realms, im ready for it

NO
Avatar did nothing to impact the culture and it’s hilarious that James Cameron wants to make more than 2 of these
Think of titanic memes we have
Endgame/infinity war memes
Dark knight
Jurassic park

Did anyone ever think we really needed 9 Fast & Furious films and a spin-off series? Nope, but here we are and people can't wait for them.

that's actually because fast and furious made itself a franchise meanwhile cameron kept pushing the movies back and back and never got around to even filming part 2 in the first place!!!:beli: no one was interested in avatar after the first one and he knows it...

I heard a lot of people say they weren't interested in Avatar before it dropped. We all saw what it did at the box office and it singlehandedly pushed the 3D fad to greater heights.

For better or worse Avatar changed the game and Cameron just knows how to reach audiences. Once that first trailer drops of underwater Pandora with footage actually shot underwater in 3D it's a wrap for the doubters.

Fast and furious is an amazing study of genre evolution and growth though
The problem with avatar is that the existing fan base of the first film is so shaky even though it made a billion dollars
Think of black panther if people had to wait ten years for a film they would but avatar came and went.

Outside of the first sequel the rest of those films might not happen

It all depends on box office performance

I'd honestly rather have a sequel to Alita Battle Angel, Avatar really doesn't need one since it was essentially Pocahontas with CGI and The Matrix elements sprinkled in

This and a proper Prometheus sequel we need more

Although I did like avatar. It was forgettable. I don’t remember anything about the story anymore
