215 Uptown!
Having to piece together the individual parts on Napster :lupe:

GF asking why I've been on her dad's computer for 3 hours :umad:

Burning a CD for the drive to work the next day :whew:

Man the roc hot 97 takeover started my path into becoming good with a computer. I clearly remember googling how to combine music tracks into one track so i can burn it as one song cause my cd player took like 3 secs to switch between songs!!!!!! MY GROOVE WAS NOT GOING TO BE fukkED UP!

Classic shyt.

Back then Jay-Z wasn't a awkward person around his people so now he's a really awkward guy when he's getting rich, around with new people, etc.

You can tell Jay-Z has so much fun back then with Roc-A-Fellas, Dame Dash, etc until the new roc, it looks like he wasn't have that much fun.
They said outside of business shyt they never even chilled wit jay, or had his number, so im sure it all was a show my nikka

Any true Roc fan knows the greatest ROC moment was "HE'S ONLY 16"
came in the thread to say this

The Roc on hot 97 was one of the goat moments in hiphop not just rocafella history

i still listen to the whole mixtape atleast once a month

Beanie on that quiet storm beat :ohlawd: :wow:

Omillio Sparks :leon:

I remember the first time I heard it... a couple of friends of mine were hanging by my car with the radio on at 2 am smoking :smoker:

The DJ goes new Freeway & Jay-Z...the beats drops and we all got the :scusthov: face, that shyt was knocking...Then "let me get em Free" we all :krs:. Then the DJ cut the record off and said "I cant give u that Jay-Z verse yet :stopitslime:.

I didn't hear the full song for like 2 weeks...still a beast when it drops especially unexpectedly.

yo, this is EXACTLY the way I first heard the song. I remember back in like 02, somehow I downloaded the snippet, cuz the full version wasn't out. and I was just rockin out to the version with free only, and it would always cut off when hov was like "let me get em free". first time I heard that shyt I was beyond HEATED!!!! :fire:

back then, I assumed only hova was on there. imagine my suprise when a prime beans came thru crushing the buildings with that third verse :ohlawd:
