Boy meets world was ABC .... GMW is Disney... same shyt...
now that they have acquired Disney yeah but not in the 90s when the show was on
Its all about the quality .... There were lessons in mostly all those old sitcoms.... especially with Feeny.... today's shows is just about getting goofy laughs for the sake of trynna be funny..

TGIF was about family shows. the audience included the tweens ... not just for the tweens
did you miss the part I said I agree with the general point about the degradation of sitcoms breh :mjpls:

its funny cause I'm watching it knowing something was written on the locker but since I hadnt seen it i so long, I couldn't remember exactly what it was. I'm thinking, nah they wouldn't put ****** on there, this was a tgif joint..then they closed that door and im like :ohhh:

No. Because damn near all the sitcoms out now are aren't directed at familiesn that's not their demo.
This! I haven't watched a Family Sitcom since "The George Lopez Show". The concept of a Family Sitcom just seems outdated to me.

Give me a Workplace sitcom like "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" or a Romantic sitcom like "New Girl" any day over a Family sitcom like "Black-ish".

That thread on the Hamster about that Different Strokes episode is one of the funniest f*cking things I've ever read online.

Thread title was "Where Were You When The Maytag Repairman Raped Dudley?"

I remember watching some of those as a kid. And those after school specials were pretty :demonic: too.

Anyone remember these?

Cheri trapped in the fridge and suffocating :damn:

Not as serious in retrospect, but Punky getting that ass whipping and a black eye :damn:

Shows or comedy like "All in the Family", "Maude", "Jeffersons", "Good times" are to real and not politically incorrect, in comparison to today's comedy which is mild.

no. not family sitcoms

sitcoms that the whole family can watch kids and adults

theres a bunch of family sitcoms on now, but most of them are directed to older people (18 and over)

They need that TGIF block back. But yeah, I agree that the family demographic is gone. It's either for the kids or for the adults, with no in between. The Goldbergs and Fresh Off the Boat are a step in the right direction, but those are shows in the mold of The Wonder Years.

Hell no. I was thinking about this the other day while watching A Different World on Netflix. We've past the golden era of television. We don't consume entertainment the same so it'll never be that good again. Everything's too fukking safe now. Pathetic really.

Seinfeld ain't a traditional family sitcom but if you think a large part of its viewership wasn't made up of families :ld:

I never watched Punky Brewster... thats cool that she saved the black girls life in that first vid you posted, then in the next vid the black girl stepped in to help her against the bully when everybody else there was fixing to watch her get her ass whooped again.
