Do black men hate their hair?

Do you hate your hair?

  • Yes I wish I had straighter more "manageable" hair?

  • Nah no self hate here, I'm cool with my hair.

Now according to our sisteren over at HypocrisyAlley :dame: it is an unspoken taboo that black men hate their hair. Apparently 360 waves are self hate and according to them s-curls are popular in the black male community. Now I haven't seen a dude rock an s curl in YEARS personally but apparently yall out here looking like Bobby Valentino :jbhmm:

Despite the billions black women spends on weaves, perms, relaxers, wigs, hot combs, etc is it actually us who hates our hair? :jbhmm:

Do you think brushing your hair changes your hair texture? :jbhmm:

Or do you think it's just projection on the part of these specific insecure women? :jbhmm:

How many of yall rockin an s curl right now? :jbhmm:

This is news to me so I came here to ask my breatheren. Do you hate your hair?:jbhmm:
:what:

NYC black coffee tough guys aka the Stoozy Boys
A kid I know told me he wish his hair was a little straighter and he is going to die it brown.

He goes to a mostly cac school smh

Sadly its the case for AA's in any scenario. Beauty magazines, videos, media, etc have programmed people to think blonde and light skin is the "standard". Everyone is susceptible, from Pro Athletes to actors. Women want to be Marilyn Monroe and Men want to be Dicaprio. Glad to see movies like Black Panther killing it.

fukk outta here b.
:childplease:

I love my hair!
:blessed:
I got a short caesar with the waves flowing, but I've done had everything.

From the baldhead slick look.
To cornrows
To a perm (cause I wanted to look like Andre 3000 in high school)
to short twists
To a high top fade
and to the low tight fade

Black people's hair is AMAZING cause we can do ANYTHING we want to it!

I dyed my hair blonde...then red when I was on my punk Dennis Rodman wannabe phase.
Then I had a mohawk too.

But I wish I had dreads.

This thread is :camby: not cool.

And tell LSA to stop hating, it's not like they seem to be roses and sunshine over there 24/7. Always seem to be miserable and unhappy.

I agree. I have heard it many times, calling someone's hair nappy or praising another woman for good hair.
I had the nappy fro rocking for a minute, but that shyt looked.
:banderas:

Its' all about how you pull it off.

Eventually I just bought that pink lotion and just went through the routine of working the hair, the scalp, then using a pick to get my fro all untangled and fresh.

And am I the only black man who don't give a fukk if a black woman's hair is relaxed or natural? I really don't as long as they look good.

=One could say Chemical and du rag overnight and literally hundreds of brush strokes to avoid natural texture and natural look of African hair.

you still here with this nonsense? 360 waves are a hairstyle ONLY ACHIEVED with our hair texture. You NEED the coils to lay down to get this style. If we actually just wanted straight hair we would perm our hair but we want waves nikka and you need coarse/curly hair to get waves. Perms = texture change waves = hairstyle change. It's simple.

If I could neg you again I would.
