Most ethnicities keep to themselves in terms of culture. We are open to all and friendly but we know what we grew up with. I'm of Jamaican and Bajan heritage.

I have cousins who are Ghanaian and Nigerian. It's all good. There used to be beef between African and caribbeans but for the most part everyone moves together these days.

I'm more used to the culture my parents and more importantly my grandparents instilled in me.

So British culture but a heavy dose of my caribbean identity mixed in.

Tbh the UK identity is a mix of different stuff. But Listen to how a lot of us speak its carribean culture laid the blueprint for the way most londoners speak cockney and patois.

The same goes with food.

Not really. Black Brits (such as me) aren't a cohesive and distinct ethnic group. We don't really have a distinct culture within the UK and thus the various SSA ethnic groups (Jamaicans, Bajans, Trinis, Nigerians, Ghanaians, Kenyans, etc) haven't mixed with each other to form a specific ethnic group. Needs more time.

Needs more time?

So there are no black brits that are descendants of slaves that have been in England since times of slavery.

not sure there is a name for them.

but you mean groups like ..

"Liverpool-born Blacks are people of Black African ancestry born in the city of Liverpool. Liverpool has the United Kingdom's oldest and longest established black community, going back several generations.[1] Liverpool's black community is also unusual among those in the United Kingdom, as the Liverpool-born Black British community often constitute a category distinct from later African and Afro-Caribbean migrants.[2]"

"Dating to the 1730s, the Black community of Liverpool is Britain's oldest, with some Liverpudlians being able to trace their black heritage for as many as ten generations."

Their dynamics of Black lineage is uniquely wild to me. I always thought Britain had a free slave community that was freed Africans and they came up with their own cuisine and culture.

But again, it's not wild cause they didn't really have slave plantations as they kept slavery on islands or in the new Americas.

This thread has been a refresher for me cause I haven't really gave them much thought since HS

The pool that gave rise to the black Liverpudlian community were black American loyalist who settled in England after the Revolutionary War. England offered black patriots freedom if they switched over and served the crown. So the earliest discernable black community in England/Europe was a black American community. And like @null pointed out, they've been there for over ten generations. Not much written on their cultural history though, so not sure if certain black American customs were preserved or not, or if they quickly assimilated which may have likely been the case.

It's interesting because in America, the children of African and Caribbean immigrants get absorbed into the African American culture and identity for the most part. Intermarriage rates with FBA and to a lesser extent non-Black people are very high.

No such thing really as blk brits, it's mainly just carribeans/Africans that assimilated rather than try to band together and start shop like the Asian mofos.

That's why blk Americans are the mightiest of the disapora, not only did ancestors resist physical subjugation but the mental fortitude to still be fully aware of the enemy and resist kissing crakkas ass and not assimilate like literally every other demographic.

It's why they especially attacked blk Americans the most with psychological warfare and perpetual psy ops. Crakkas know if they recruit blk Africans/carribean immigrants they're more likely to assimilate to this structure. Hence why they're even given more opportunity upon arrival.

When you go to the uk, it ain't the states where every other breh gon head nod and still be SOMEWHAT on code against other groups. A lot of blks in the uk are confused, kiss crakkas ass and far more c00nish and race disloyal than the average blk American. They just worship or are fascinated by them neanderthals more.:hhh:

They say what don't kill you make you stronger and although colonialism did a number on Africans and carrbibeans, due to history and extreme dehumanizing acts and torture blks faced in usa is why they are the strongest and most influential group of blks on the planet today. That said Jamaica for being such a small island is top 3 in influence in the diaspora so they're very impressive in their feats as well.

However too many still revere that crakka skin too much for my liking, so much so that they're stereotyped to cozy up to fat unseenly cave bytches :scust:

Nah he means people who’s ancestors were brought to the UK as slaves directly and didn’t come during the windrush generation and hence have no association with the Caribbean.
The amount of slaves brought to the UK is so small compared to those transported to the Caribbean that the culture is different.

Seeing that surname she descended from Barbados and her ancestors were owned by Dr Strange's family.
