That’s a great beat. Are there more like that?

I’d say Loyal to the Game remix is another good one. Some of his Penthouse Player’s Clique stuff cool, P.S. Phuk U 2 has more of that piano roll type shyt no extra West Coasty sounds. Personally, I love the Late Night and Thug Passion beats but those go back to the fun, light hearted vibes that some people don’t care for. Truth is, Quik don’t got too many “gritty” or “hard” sounding beats his shyt is smooth.

People asking about Quik’s harder beats should definitely check out Penthouse Player’s Clique’s album. Battlecat was on there too, friend.

For sure, there aren’t many gritty west coast beats, at least post-1991.

I was thinking hard a la “high powered” or “lyrical gangbang”

Am interested to know why you have RZA over Premier. RZA is one of my favorite solo artists and has the same birthday as Mac Dre

RZA is better than premier in that he’s more innovative and creative. Let’s not act like premier doesn’t have dozens of generic “premier type beats” that are just throwaways.

I like Preemo’s top tier “highs,” but some of his “lows” are just super bland beats.

From 93-97 I don’t think RZA made a beat that wasn’t a banger.
