I don’t understand why he has to work with all of these artists tho?

what difference does it make if he does/doesnt get on a song with them

The LA music scene would be much more prominent today if they had an A-lister shine a light on them and pull them up from the underground / club scene. Nip was doing a lot of this. Game was doing a lot of this. Snoop was doing a lot of this. Hit-Boy is doing what Kendrick should be doing but he don't got the star power to make a big impact.

What was the whole point of Snoop, Game, Kurupt, etc passing the torch to Kendrick if he just gonna blow up and do songs with Imagine Dragons and Taylor Swift and not help bring anyone up from LA (outside the TDE and friends circle)?

This why the whole colonizer narrative sounded hypocritical, cause this guy effectively ran back to his hood to leverage a win against Drake. We never seen dude blood walk before or rap like Drakeo The Ruler. He got more records with Mike Will and Canadian producers like Boi-1da, than dudes like Mustard and Hit-Boy.

But he's not the only one.

Does Kendrick work with other LA producers?

It's really only the TDE guys like Sounwave and DJ Dahi.

I think he got 3 records with Alc, but dudes like Hit-Boy and Mustard only ever got one record out of Kendrick.

Repped.

I stand corrected on the dancing but I still think its hypocritical how dude jumped on a Mustard beat and started jacking Drakeo style to push a colonizer narrative in the battle when those guys were largely ignored for his entire career.

And again, I want to see Kendrick work more with these guys. There's no good reason why he aint on this album when he just went number 1.
