Jay's my favorite rapper, but let's be serious, he was probably listening to that beat for months and already had multiple extra verses ready to go. This whole thinking of lyrics on the spot savant thing is a myth, dude just has verses he wrote memorized and plays it off to everyone in there that he's some kind of genius, which ironically is genius.

Jay said himself that he writes verses in his head and memorizes them by repetition. He said after having a certain of amount of verses he would have to put some down because he can only remember so many at a time. He never said that he makes up verses on the spot in his head. I think the legend has grown because you hear all theses stories of people being in awe of Jay because they see him hear a beat, bob his head, and put some shyt down. So maybe to them it seems like he is making the verse on the spot. But Jay actually never said that himself, in fact it was the opposite. So any misconception about the way he writes comes from others singing his praises , not him. All he basically brags about is not writing.

XXLMag.com: How’d you convince Jay to put Big on the track?

DJ Clark Kent: Jay and Dame didn’t know that I brought Big to the studio and had him in the car waiting. So I got up like I’m going to the bathroom and bring [Big] back and they look at me like I’m a funny guy. They played the song and Jay said, “You want to get on it?” Big said, “I’ll get on it,” then Jay goes in the booth and spits a brand new song. Understand what I’m telling you, in like 15 minutes Jay wrote a new song… The song was there, it was perfect already, he meets Big, stands around for a while, let the beat play, goes in the booth, does something totally different, and left the open spaces for Big to fill in.

XXLMag.com: Did Big finish his verses that same day?

DJ Clark Kent: I knew Big and he perfects his bars, so I knew it wasn’t going to happen like that and I knew he was going to bug out when he saw my man not using a pen. That was the day Big decided, “I’m not writing anything down. If he’s not writing anything, I’m not writing anything down.”

XXLMag.com: So before that session Big used to write his rhymes down?

DJ Clark Kent: Yes, sir, absolutely. That’s also the day Jay and Big became friends, so it’s like, right then and there they became friends. All of a sudden you see them together and interacting with each other. Big laying his verse [for “Brooklyn’s Finest”] didn’t happen until two months later. So that could have been two months that they were together formulating the verses but Jay’s verses were done.

Be the supposed "hottest rapper out" and get so horrified by the GOATness of the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd's GOATly verses that took him less than TWENTY minutes to REWRITE that it takes you TWO months to come up with your god awful, lyrically remedial, Ambien flows filled, WOAT attempt at a verse & still get destroyed, brehs

Bonus insight into the GOATness of the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd:

"Wait, what? Five minutes?!?! He laid down all his vocals in just five minutes? We've all heard of andseen Jay Z's penchant for delivering his bars off the dome with nothing written in front of him, but we're talking about a classic song here. What's maybe more incredible is that Jay envisioned the entire song structure, leaving lines open for B.I.G. to come in and deliver memorable bars such as his famous shots at 2Pac"
