the low end. southside chi
Fair note but at same time it’s like it was even in the streets
I think gucci's was bigger cause his street run was longer than jeezy's
Between his badboy deal with boyz n da hood and his def jam solo deal he wasnt street run wasn't as long. Instant star

But maybe it was a chicago thing cause gucci had chicago in a choke hold from like lemonade till that last time he got arrested

What peak? Jeezy was mainstream and Gucci was the equivalent of a Boosie/Webbie in Atlanta. They both had a name but there was no comparison after TM101 dropped.
Right...nikkas in here talking about Gucci getting blackballed being a blessing. He wouldn't have had a movement like Jeezy had.

I remember it was a point in time where every song had a Jeezy adlib. His peak was way bigger than Gucci.

Gucci wasn’t bigger than Jeezy or TIP at all they peaks

nikkas makin shyt up. Gucci had the streets but them nikkas did too but they had the billboards to match

Why I don't like that "b b but he had the streets" argument

You think nikkas wasn't bumping Jeezy just as much if not more lol

Gucci COULD have been bigger cause he was on track with Mariah features and shyt but he got into too much trouble.

But no. Gucci has more material and more of a cult following for sure.

Gucci's INFLUENCE though is wild. He's touched and cultivated several dozen artists.
All this, only thing Gucci didn’t do was usher in a movement like Jeezy did, Jeezy movement was one of those ‘you had to be there’ moments in hip hop, you could see and feel the southern shift when Jeezy took over

Basically Gucci is only revered so much because Atlanta basically became the hiphop Mecca. Jeezy is as big regardless of what city was hot.
