Gucci COULD have been bigger cause he was on track with Mariah features and shyt but he got into too much trouble.

But no. Gucci has more material and more of a cult following for sure.

Gucci's INFLUENCE though is wild. He's touched and cultivated several dozen artists.

What peak? Jeezy was mainstream and Gucci was the equivalent of a Boosie/Webbie in Atlanta. They both had a name but there was no comparison after TM101 dropped.
They consider Gucci Mane's career peak to be after he got out prison in 2016 becuz of all the mainstream hits he had or was featured on.

As a person who was listening to Gucci heavy early and also worked in marketing for Jeezy when he first came out, I have to disagree as well. I have hella memories of riding around, on bs playing Gucci but that Jeezy run hit different. Just some context, I had an original Jeezy Snowman shirt with the glitter. Someone wanted it so bad they bought it off my back used for 50 dollars back then. Trap or Die then Thug Motivation hit a level in the hood I don’t know if I’ve ever seen before or after.

Nah...I remember when you couldn't walk a block without seeing Snowman posters/stickers plastered everywhere...and Thug Motivation bumping everywhere. Jeezy was moving like a rockstar out here

Gucci cult following was elite so I understand why the comparison is being made, but nah Jeezy peak was higher.

I love Gucci but if you’re only talking PEAKS his shyt ain’t touching Jeezy

I played in a college FB championship in ‘05 and even the old ass coaches was saying “—- bus pull up, everybody RUN”

Thug Motivation was on a level that I’ve only seen 90s Snoop, ‘02 50 Cent and So Far Gone Drake on a higher level. Maybe ‘99 DMX

It’s simple, the whole “gen z” thing are CACS.

Gucci became popular with CACS on the internet as the drugged out trap minstrel. He was basically responsible for ushering in the trap movement online. Online =/= real life so the two can’t be compared. Jeezy was always more popular than Gucci.

Same thing happened with Chief Keef, but with drill.
