Classic album

First track I heard was I luv U

Beat blew my mind then I heard Stop Dat

and bought the album off those two tracks. The bass on both tracks was crazy and something I had never heard before. That album introduced me to Grime and the whole Uk scene (Ukg, 2 step, jungle etc.)

Living legend.

Pioneered the genre, made grimes magnum opus on first attempt at SEVENTEEN. Platinum Brit Award winning Album.

Can say he sell out but if we use sense, he opened a lot of doors and likely keep the budget open for Grime/UK Rap at the labels.

Yea... a lot of corny mainstream crossover attempts

Yep but we have to put this into context… the world and technology was very different. The charts & TV dominated everything.

These were young guys with often minimal education who had to make the music business work for them whilst they could.

Those corny commercial tunes allowed these artists to continue their careers ultimately. Wiley used those labels for their advances, knew how to make a Pop song if he had to and then went back to Grime.

It’s only recently UK genres have been allowed to be authentic and do numbers. Thats why however people feel about Central Cee/Dave I will champion them based off of that.
