Having second thoughts about switching Wolfgraff to an archer, backstab is :wow:

Geomancer skills are :banderas:

Not that good until you get higher level. Death Punch does great damage but it's Master class. The only really useful spell at a lower level is Destroy Summon.

Witchcraft is mostly debuffs and buffs that makes the enemy weaker, or your party stronger, etc.

I maxed out Geomancy, Pyrokinetic, Hydrosophist and Aerotheurge on my Mages. Those Master class spells are :wow:

Wands or staff:jbhmm:

Kinda doesn't matter unless you plan on manually attacking a lot. I played the entire game and rarely used the actual wand/staff attacks on mage. A few have nice stat bonuses, use them based on that.

I used staff the whole game. The basic staff skill (Magus?) was pretty good. I didn't like the way the wand abilities worked. The basically give you skills you can learn anyways I think? It's been a while lol

I might be wrong but I think +1 is all you can get on stats for crafted items. I never got heavy into the crafting aspect of the game though.

I more so meant the items you can buy. A few pop up with +3 INT for example. Those are very rare. But as (most of) the loot in the game has random stats, it would depend on what you find. Usually +2 is as high as you can get for a stat.

Oh and you can craft that Adventure gear, the Stage 4 staff for mages is really nice.

You get the base weapon (bow, staff, axe, sword) from Charla, an undead NPC on Cyseal Beach right outside of town.

After that each weapon has 4 upgrades you can find. I found all the pieces for the staff on my own but you gotta look very well. They're hidden all over the game.

Side note, do not kill Charla. I know I mentioned killing NPCs earlier for their gear, and you can jack her at a relatively low level, but it makes a quest later in the game impossible to finish. It's not a big deal but I would've liked to see how that side quest ended.

I see at one point you can hire henchmen. Was going to hire one and dump all the points into crafting, blacksmithing, bartering, and lockpicking. Anybody did this?

I just stuck with the first two characters the whole game lol. If I was to play again I'd switch it up a bit. By the time I realized I could hire guys my party was all built around eachother

Eh, I did when I beat the game a year ago. It's more for if you want to experiment with different play styles and classes. I avoided it when playing Enhanced Edition because I'm using Tactician Mode which takes every fight from the OG game and completely fukks up the strategies you used before.
