Translation what is done in the Olympics really has no bearing on how a player is viewed and really doesn't prove anything so for nikkas to try to use it to do those things for Melo is just sad. Melo fans need to stop being sensitive cheerleaders and actually hold the nikka accountable and then maybe he might actaully start showing and proving more often. All the critcism is nothing more than a tribute to his talent just like it was with those other guys I mentioned. If it wasn't obvious that he COULD do better nikkas wouldnt' expect him to actually DO better.

I was just pointing out the obvious....the irony of this thread coupled with the fact that people say melo isn't in the same conversation as people like bron, kobe, and durant in terms of basketball ability, while at the same time comparing him to those same people when trying to lay out his faults. You guys can't have it both ways.
37pts in 14 minutes while shooting 10 for 12 from 3 is AMAZING regardless of competition, and if durant had that kind of performance last night you dudes would be creaming your pants talking about how he's the next MJ....but since it's Melo "oh, it's just the olympics"
The nikka has gotten a pass based upon how other players have been treated his entire career and now nikkas are that he is finally under some scrutiny. 
The point is that all-time great seasons/series by those guys did nothing to halt the criticism of those guys so why would one game against inferior competition quell the Melo criticism? I compare him to those guys because he has displayed the talent to be in the conversation with them and has been put in their class throughout his career. I compare him to those guys only to show how those guys took their share of heat for doing more yet nikkas wanna act like Melo is some victim.
I don't recall any Olympic basketball performance getting that much hype in general and I know that I personally have gotten hyped up over one. I've never heard Olympic performance mentioned when talking about the merits of an American player other than saying he had a gold medal.
hell they talk about durant world basketball championship performance all the time too so stop it guy . And again no one says melo is better than bron Kobe so why you acting like we saying that, we readily admit he has flaws . And again lebron gets thread when they are warranted melo hasn't played a nba game in months yet has about 15 threads since the season. Another thing melo been getting criticized For years look at who gets blamed in Denver when they lost ?

Nobody ever talked about Denver unless they were sucking Melo off. He never got the T-Mac/KG treatment there. Bron caught more heat for Finals Ls than Melo caught for first round Ls. 
Why can't we compare Melo to Bron and Kobe? They're the elite superstar standard that he's striving for and hasn't reached. That's where we expect him to go so that's who we compare him to.

When you take a test the score is out of 100. That's the standard. You don't get an A for being the smartest out of all the dumb fukks. You're graded in comparison to the best, especially if you wanna be the best.
If you guys are contending that Melo shouldn't be in that discussion then, hey, some people are ok with B's and C's.
If he isn't in Bron/Kobe's class then all Knicks fans should be pissed because only perimerter stars of that caliber can be the guy on a championship team.
